Nationwide Strike:Striking Employees and Workers Protested Against the Betrayal of Modi Government

Chandigarh 02nd September:- As per the call given by Central Trade Unions and Federations, the employees and workers working din the offices of LIC, National Insurance. United India Ins., New India Assurance, Oriental Insurance. BSNL, Post Office. Govt. and UT Employees Electricity, MC Employees Horticulture, Water Supply, UT Roads, UT Safai Karamchari, Employees and Office of PSIEC observed the One day Strike today.
The striking employees and workers protested against the Betrayal of Modi Government to fulfill its promises. The Public Sector Undertakings are giving profits and filling the coffers of the Central Govt. is being handed over to the Indian and Foreign Private Houses. All Financial Institutions are being deregulated and being placed at the mercy of Foreign Corporate Houses. The Working class which was expecting employment but the rate of employment is decelerated in comparison to growth, share of wages and salary and income have been further reduced. Right to form the Trade unions and struggle are being scuttled in every possible way and it is being imposed through ordinances and with the wish of the employer upto all possibilities. Over and above the BJP rules state Govts., the Central Govt. is changing the labour laws in favor of Corporate Houses and labour rights are being denied to the workers. They are being denied minimum wages of Rs.18000 per month. Contractual system is being increased; equal wages for equal work is being denied. Not only the workers and employees are most resented against the betrayal of Morn Govt. but also other sections like Peasants, Shopkeepers, Transporters, Youths, Women and Pensioners are also hit hard by the policies of Central Govt.
The Employees and Workers protested before their offices and gathered in shape of rally near Bridge Market Sector 17 and marched through the main market, MC office, Neelam Theater, PSIDC Bhawan and bank square which culminated at LIC office. The marching employees and workers raised slogans against the policies of Modi Govt. demanding Minimum wage of Rs.18000, Stop Dismantling of Public Sector. Bonus to All. Control of Price Rise, Pension to all. Stop FD in Retail, Railway, Insurance, Bank etc. They also demanded from the Chd. Admn. not to impose 144 for employees and workers.

Horticulture Workers Union, Chain Singh, President  Water Supply, Vishram, Gen. Secy. U.T. Roads, P. Kamraj, President, M.C. Road Barjinder Kumar President, Tarlochan Singh Gen. Secy. U.T. Horticulture, Jaipal President, of ICCW Employees Union, Prem Lal, President CITCO, Kulbir Singh (MTC) POL –SDPO N Marwari, Gen. Secretary of PSIEC, Com. Rashpal, P & T, Chandigarh, Com. Bahadur Singh, A.G. Punjab/ Haryana, Com. Dhillon of BSNL Union, Om Parkash of Tubewell Corporation, Com. Naginder, PCMSRU, Com. MS. Gorsi and Com. Dinesh Parsad of CITU & Kulbir Singh (IHTUC).
