MCM College Celebrates ‘Lohri’ to Glorify the Traditional Festival

Chandigarh 14th January:- MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh is an inspiring communion of tradition and modernity. The college believes in embracing new trends and technologies but holding on to one’s roots. This philosophy is an integral part of the value system of the college and the institution endlessly endeavors to inculcate these esteemed values into the students.
In keeping with the efforts, the college organized the ‘Lohri Celebrations’ to glorify the traditional festival. The festivities comprised of traditional Punjabi dances which had all the audience spellbound. The students proudly sported traditional attires like phulkari, jutti, parandhi etc and led the onlookers to a memorable sojourn through the dusty roads of Punjab. Melodious songs of lohri, bonfire and giddha were the flavors of the day. 
The Principal of the college, Dr. Nisha Bhargava was highly appreciative of the exceptional endeavor. She emphasized the importance of remembering and respecting our traditions as we moved along with the times. She stressed upon the fact that our culture and values play a pivotal role in ensuring a niche for ourselves and guide us through our odyssey of life.
