January:- A two-day workshop on 'Anuvaad: Sambhawnayein
aur Samasayein' (Translation: Possibilities and Problems) organised by the
Hindi Department of MCM DAV College for Women under the aegis of Rashtriya
Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyaan (RUSA), culminated here today.
In the inaugural session of the workshop,
Prof. Pankaj Malviya, Department of Russian Language, Panjab University
elucidated on the process of translation and discussed in detail the practical
difficulties faced during translation. On the second day of the workshop, Mr. Mahendra
Kumar Kaushik, Hindi Officer, Office of Accountant General, Chandigarh shared
his views on the importance of translation. Mrs. Neena Behl, Assistant
Director, Akashvani, Chandigarh shed light on the various facets of official
language. The department's faculty members Dr. Manisha Priyamwada, Dr.Prasoon
Prasad and Dr.Sarita Chauhan also held an enlightening discussion on the problems
faced during translation. The students participated in the workshop with great
enthusiasm.
MCM Principal Dr.Nisha Bhargava lauded this
exceptional endeavour of the Hindi Department to generate awareness about the
problems faced in the field of translation.
