March:- The Fashion Design Council of India
(FDCI), and the Pearl Academy today announced, day five of AIFW AW’17, to
present the Pearl Portfolio. The FDCI and Pearl Academy, a leading design
institute with a legacy of over two decades have come together to nurture and
develop future design visionaries. The event will be held from March 15-18,
and the Pearl Portfolio, will be added as the fifth day, on March 19, at
the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lodhi Road, in the capital.
Day five will witness five shows by
the School of Fashion, Styling and Textiles, Pearl Academy,
featuring over 600 ensembles by 350 plus students. Pearl Portfolio has been a
signature event of Pearl Academy for the last 23 years and has been an annual launch
pad showcasing the work of graduating students pursuing their goals in fashion
as well as related industries.
On
the announcement, Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI stated that we
are delighted to present the Pearl Portfolio as it is a creative space, which
fosters fresh ideas through enabling design education. As a leading body that
promotes design excellence, this collaboration will give an opportunity to
greenhorns, to have an eclectic vision for the future.
Prof.
Nandita Abraham, CEO, Pearl Academy said that it is fabulous for our
students to be showcasing at the Amazon India Fashion Week. The intent is to
give our students relevant learning, invaluable exposure and the best possible
experience. Strong collaborations with industry partners like FDCI have made
this possible.
