12th June:- The Punjab Tourism and Forest
Department have decided to traverse the adventurous track to promote
eco-adventure tourism. A 2 day adventure trail named 'Shivalik Adventure Drive'
would be flagged off on 8th July and would conclude the next
day.
Disclosing this, an official
spokesman said that a meeting was presided over here today at the forest
complex by the Special Chief Secretary (Forests) Himmat Singh to brainstorm
about the forthcoming event. The event would take the adventure enthusiasts
right into the heart of the shivalik foothills.
The event is being organized with the
assistance of Gerrari Offroaders Chandigarh. The 4x4 vehicles (4 wheelers
SUVs) would be participating in the event. The Scrutiny / briefing of the event
will be held on 7th July at forest department building Mohali.
On the occasion, Director, Tourism
and Cultural Affairs Department Punjab Shivdular Singh Dhillon, Principal Chief
Conservator of Forests Kuldip Kumar and others were also present.
