Chitkara University Awards Honorary Doctorate for Quick Heal Technologies Founder Kailash Katkar

Chandigarh 29^th July:- In a glittering ceremony at its Punjab campus, Chitkara University conferred the Doctor of Literature degree on Mr. Kailash Katkar, Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the leading IT security solutions provider, Quick Heal Technologies for his outstanding contribution to Business, Education and Humanity. He is a first generation entrepreneur who started Quick Heal Technologies from scratch and built a Global IT security solutions empire spanning more than 80 countries. His journey is a truly inspiring story of success interwoven with hard work, vision, judgment calls and the ability to spot opportunities. The Doctorate was awarded to Kailash Katkar at the hands of Dr. Madhu Chitkara , Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University at the august gathering to celebrate the 12th Convocation of Chitkara University wherein more than 500 students from the Graduating Batch of 2017 Mass Communication, Hospitality, Education, Healthcare & Engineering were awarded with their degrees.

Kailash Katkar’s brainchild Quick Heal Foundation functions in the areas of community welfare, education and creating awareness around cyber security. The foundation has provided training and guidance on cyber security to more than 8 lakh students across the country. In addition, Quick Heal Academy closely works with Universities, Law Enforcement Agencies and Educational Institutions to engage with students and design programs which will create a strong pool of Cyber Security professionals.

The special convocation 2017 was presided over by the Dr. Ashok K Chitkara, Chancellor Chitkara University, Dr. Madhu Chitkara , Vice Chancellor & Dr. S.C. Sharma, Registrar, Chitkara University.

On receiving the degree,  Kailash Katkar, in his key note address said that he is privileged to receive the Honorary Doctorate of Literature from an esteemed University like Chitkara. He truly feels humbled and honored to receive this honor. When he started Quick Heal Technologies, computers were in its infancy and internet was not even born in India. Today they have become a part of life across the globe. Technology is thriving on this penetration and presents limitless opportunities to this generation to think beyond imagination. We are seeing the rise of robotics and automation in many sectors. Through the solutions developed by Quick Heal Technologies, his job is to make the virtual world a safe and secure place. Your job as future leaders and innovators is to create a world that lasts forever. He is sure you have gained immense knowledge during your time at Chitkara University. According to Dr. Ashok K Chitkara, Chancellor Chitkara University Punjab, that Kailash Katkar is widely recognized as a man of enormous integrity, significant achievements and remarkable humility, and he has brought these qualities to his dynamic leadership of Quick Heal Technologies. This award is recognition for Kailash Katkar’s tremendous contributions to India and the IT Industry at large, through his vision, drive for innovation and passion to bring about transformation and change. Chitkara University thanks Kailash Katkar and honours him with this doctorate.

Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Vice chancellor of Chitkara University Punjab, said, that Kailash Katkar has had a remarkable career. Kailash Katkar interacted with students who received their degrees at the event. The Honoris Causa Doctorate at Chitkara University is meant to acknowledge and felicitate distinguished personalities in the country who have made commendable contributions in the field of science, engineering, entrepreneurship and academics.
