UIPS Researcher Wins Young Scientist Award in Australia

Chandigarh 15th September:- The Ph.D. Researcher, Amanpreet Kaur of University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University, Chandigarh has brought laurels to Panjab University by bagging Young Scientist Award at the 5th world congress on Controversies, Debates & Consensus in Bone, Muscle and Joint Diseases (BMJD), held from August 31-September 3, 2017 at Gold Coast, Australia. Her Research work found novelty in giving a new meaning to a very old drug, Diflunisal which would go a long way in reducing the pain of arthritic patients. Remarkably, the work was presented amongst the top-rated Rheumatologists which received an applause by given award along with prize money worth 300 AUD. The innovation related to uniquely constructed delivery platform that it provides a boosting potential to the drug molecules and therefore gave an improved, significant anti-inflammatory response. The selection of the work for Young Scientist Award is made out of hundreds of abstracts submitted worldwide. Amanpreet Kaur is pursuing her doctorate research under the guidance of Prof. O.P. Katare, Director-Research Promotion Cell and Professor of Pharmaceutics at UIPS, Panjab University. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India supported this presentation by giving Travel funding.
