By Tricitynews Reporter
Chandigarh 22nd October:- Car dealers under the banners of Chandigarh car dealers Association today demonstrated a massive protest against Chandigarh administration and Municipal Corporation for not providing proper infrastructure and basic amenities in shifted car bazaar at Ramdarbar-Hllomajra Ground.
Car Dealers Association President Gulshan Kumar was informed that though the Chandigarh Administration and Municipal Corparation has shifted the car bazaar from the market of sector 7 Chandigarh to here Ramdarbar ground. When they reached here to start their business, they find here no such proper infrastructure and basic amenities has provided by the Municipal Corporation to the car dealers. They found themselves cheated by the anti traders policies of MC. Ground here is full with doily smell and dirt that no one can stand here for more than few seconds. Moreover that the public toilet made by the MC for the convenience of Car dealers and customers has lack of facilities such as water & taps.  There is no facility of drinking water in the area, car dealers brings it at their own from their homes. Car market is also having substantially reduced the influx of customers from being shifted out of the city. Car dealers have found it difficult to run their business on. This would feed many personnel families of the car market.  He said that if the corporation had to shift the car market here, the first thing it should have to do is to materialize facilities here.
He added that the MC has given 20 feet of space to the every car dealer to display their cars. In this particular space car dealer can park only 10 cars, and the charges for the space is almost Rs. 7100/-, which is very much on higher side. He added that in addition to the Rs. 7100/- by adding other routine expenses, it costs almost Rs. 10000/- to the car dealer. He said that if we point out these things to the officials of MC, they said that if they found any problems, who told them to run their business. They can close it.
Other officials of the associations said that several times they appealed to the MC authorities to provide a proper and better place to put the car market here with all basic facilities and infrastructure. They are ready to pay rent according to that. Instead of several request neither administration nor Municipal Corporation officials given any attention. He said that if they don’t get justice then they will fasten their protest.
