Chandigarh 17th July:- The Department of Tourism, Chandigarh
Administration today celebrated the 2nd anniversary of the World Heritage
Nomination Of Capitol Complex with a series of unique initiatives to make a
visit to the Complex more comfortable and enriching for tourists.
The
Chief Guest for the event Santosh Kumar (Chief Conservator forests, Chandigarh
Administration) and Guest of Honour JitenderYadav (Director Tourism, Chandigarh
Administration) launched 10 post cards and 5 posters specifically based on the
Capitol Complex thus fulfilling a long standing demand of national and international
visitors.
In a
unique initiative cycles for visitors were launched . JitenderYadav informed
that cycles shall be available for adults and children at the Tourist
Information Centre to ease the long distances of the Capitol tour.
Considering
the rain and harsh sun endured by tourists on the vast plaza umbrellas were
also launched at the Capitol. These shall be provided to visitors free of cost
for the guided tour.
A
tree plantation drive was also organised to enhance the green cover of the
Capitol ensemble.
Santosh Kumar applauded the efforts of the Tourism Department to facilitate visitors to the Capitol and for undertaking tree plantation.
