Legal Metrology under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs is a mandatory registration for many businesses. The Legal Metrology Act in India minimizes the ill effects of weight & measurement errors and brings transparency and accountability.
The act specifies weighing and measuring standards, instruments, units & mandatory requirements with the objective of ensuring the accuracy and security of weights and measurements.
The labour law consultant that regulates labour in India is primarily statutes enacted by the Parliament and the state legislatures. These statutes, in turn, have been codified in a vast number of laws, nearly eight hundred in all.
The legal metrology field involves the study of units of weight and measurement, methods of weight and measurement, as well as weighing and measuring instruments, with a focus on the mandatory technical and legal requirements which ensure public trust in the accuracy and security of measurements and weighments.
