Chandigarh 11th August:- The
Heritage,
History and Culture Society of GGDSD
College, Kheri Gurna, Banur celebrated Teej festival today in college campus.
Best Dish, Best Punjaban look and Mehendi competition was arranged for
students. Many students took part in these events. Ms. Harvinder Kaur, BA III Semester
came first in best dish competition, Ms. Manpreet Kaur, BA V Semester came
first in Punjaban look , Varun Sood, B.Com Gen. V Semester came first in
Punjabi look and Ms. Aarti & Ms. Pooja, B.Com. Gen. V Semester came first
in mehndi competition.
College principal Dr. Sunil Kumar Baria
addressed the students on this auspicious occasion and shared about rich
cultural values of Punjab behind this festival. The students
of Heritage, History and Culture Society exhibited beautiful products, made by
them in the workshop( from
22 June 2018 to 21 July 2018 in
collaboration with cooperative Deptt. Pb) in college campus.
Dr.
Lakhvinder Kaur, Coordinator of Heritage, History & Culture Society said
that in this workshop students learnt various skills like sewing, embroidery,
fabric painting, punjabi jutti making, tie and dye, bangle making etc. which
was shown today in this exhibition.
