The 2nd short course
on Public Health Informatics organized jointly by School of Public Health,
PGIMER and Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, Norway, concluded
today. Dr. Lakshmi, Professor of Epidemiology, School of Public Health
discussed about the project evaluation in health informatics and gave an
overview of challenges faced while evaluating these projects.
Dr. Dharamjeet Singh Faujdar and
Dilroop gave practical demonstration of district health information system
(DHIS) to the participants throughout the course.
Dr. Nikita Sharma, Senior resident
discussed the ways to monitor progress towards Universal Health Coverage
through health information systems and challenges faced in the process. Field
visit to public health dispensary, sector-25 was conducted to show open MRS and
DHIS2.
Jatinder Kumar gave a live
demonstration of hospital information system (HIS) during visit to data center,
PGIMER. About 21 participants from all over India, representing the medical
professionals, health systems and information technology professionals
participated in the course.
