By Tricitynews
Mumbai 26th August:- Godrej Interio, India’s leading furniture brand in-home and institutional segments, today launched a novel retail concept ‘Godrej Interio healthcare Experience Centre’. It is the first-of-its-kind hub wherein one can experience the best of products and services by Godrej Interio for the healthcare industry.
The healthcare experience centre was launched in the presence of Jamshyd Godrej, Chairman of the Board of Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd., Anil Mathur, Chief Operating Officer, Godrej Interio along with medical experts like Dr. Vivek Desai, Director – HOSMAC, Dr. Vispy Jokhi, CEO–Masina, and Gautam Khanna, CEO – Hinduja. It highlights Godrej Interio’s design philosophy which is based on human-centric approach (space/products that take care of all stakeholders) and adaptive space solutions.
On the launch of the new centre, Jamshyd Godrej, MD & Chairman Godrej & Boyce said that at Godrej and Boyce, our mission has always been about enriching the quality of life every day everywhere. The Indian healthcare sector is growing at a brisk pace due to its strengthening coverage, services and increasing expenditure by public as well as private players. It is, however, lacking in healing environments which focus on providing utmost comfort and safety to patients while handling the cost challenge. We at Godrej are working on multiple innovations keeping in mind unique challenges faced by industry. For example, shortly we are launching world’s first bed which can be converted from manual to motorised at Hospital premises. This should help Hospitals to upgrade same bed at later date. It is a matter of pride to see Godrej Interio endeavouring to uplift the quality of experience at healthcare facilities through multiple innovations.
Anil Mathur, Chief Operating Officer, Godrej Interio said that healthcare has become one of India’s largest sectors - both in terms of revenue and employment, and growing a CAGR of 16-17 per cent. However, the healthcare facilities in India are often incompatible to changing needs. Godrej Interio Healthcare business focuses on creating environments that support patients and families in process of healing. These ergonomically designed healing environments focus on efficiency, empathy and wellbeing of all stakeholders including patients, caregivers and doctors. The healthcare experience centre highlights our design philosophy which is based on adopting a human-centric approach and using adaptive space solutions for improved patient-doctor interaction.
On this occasion, Godrej Interio also released insights from its first survey on the healthcare industry, ‘Elevating Experiences, Enriching Lives’. The survey highlights prevalent challenges faced by the nursing staff while delivering healthcare services in India.
The study revealed more than 90% of nurses complain of some musculoskeletal disorder. Nursing as a profession requires nurses to work in a standing posture. The study highlighted 88% of nurses work for 8-10 hours a day along with doing overtime at least twice or thrice a month (35% do over time more than three times a month). 74% of the nurses stand for more than 4-6 hours a day at a stretch which could cause stress on their lower limbs. These long working hours, overtime and work overload contribute to impact their physical and psychological wellbeing. Experts have cautioned that a tired workforce is one of the chief contributors to medical errors.
