Videocon d2h Ties up With CSC eGovernance Services India Limited

Chandigarh 08^th September:- Videocon d2h (NASDAQ, USA: VDTH), India’s fastest growing DTH service, today announced its association with the CSC eGovernance Services India Limited, a SPV under Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India for the launch of their CSC services. The Common Service Centre (CSC) scheme is a part of the ambitious Digital India (DI) initiative. The service was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Electronics & IT and Law and Justice of India, in Varanasi today. Videocon d2h is the only DTH player to be chosen for the association to support the larger objective of ‘Digital India’.

The Scheme envisages the setting up of 100,000+ IT-enabled access points to be implemented in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). The Common Service Centers (CSCs) have been positioned as front end delivery outlets for delivery of Government as well as Private Sector services. The services will enable the citizens of India to access their digital entertainment through Videocon d2h.

एच एस सोहल, उप प्रबंधक,एलसीपीसी मोहाली द्वारा नीरजा की ज़िन्दगी पर बनाये गए आर्ट वर्क को प्रदर्शित किया गया है।उन्होंने पोस्टर्स पेंटिंगस और पोर्ट्रेट के जरिये उस एयर नीरजा भनोट के एयर होस्टेस जीवन को दिखाया है जो हाईजैक विमान में सहायता और सुरक्षा करते समय आंतकियो की गोलियों का शिकार हो गयी थी।

एच एस सोहल के अनुसार प्रदर्शनी में लगभग ६० तस्वीरो को डिस्प्ले किया गया है। इनको बनाने में करीब डेढ़ महीने का समय लगा और इन चित्रो को बनाने से पहले उन्होंने नीरजा के बारे में विस्तार से पढ़ा। इसके अलावा उन्होंने नीरजा के परिवार से बातचीत करके भी नीरजा के बारे में जानकारी हासिल की थी।

India Consumer Sentiment Index Down 4.62% in Aug’16

Chandigarh 07^th September:- India consumer sentiment index fell by 4.62 per cent to 96.1 in August 2016, according to data on consumer sentiments by BSE and CMIE. Consumer sentiments regarding the current economic conditions fell by 5.25 per cent and consumer expectations regarding the future fell by 4.2 per cent.

BSE, the world’s fastest stock exchange with the speed of 6 microseconds and CMIE, India's leading business information company, had launched world’s first high-frequency data on unemployment and consumer sentiments in the month of April 2016. Urban consumer sentiments fell by 1.06 per cent in August compared to their level in July 2016. Consumer sentiments in urban areas regarding the current economic conditions deteriorated by 1.83 per cent and consumer expectations regarding the future worsened by 0.57 per cent for the month.

The index (base September-December 2015 = 100) of consumer expectations in August at 102.47 was much higher than the index of current economic conditions which was 98.73. The overall consumer sentiment index was 101.

In sharp contrast, consumer sentiments in rural India grew positively by 1.08 per cent during August 2016. While the index for rural current economic conditions grew by 0.46 per cent, the index for consumer expectations grew by 1.46 per cent.

Ashish kumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, BSE said that it is interesting to note that Indian consumers are more optimistic about their future than their own assessment of their current economic condition. This greater hope in the future is evident in both urban and rural regions. Thus, while the overall sentiments in rural and urban regions are divergent, their relative perception regarding their own future converges to unambiguous optimism.

Mahesh Vyas, MD & CEO, CMIE said that the sharp rural-urban contrasts in consumer sentiments reflect the divergent trends in the two regions today. While rural India rejoices the advent of the monsoon, urban India's sentiment is apparently impacted by the pressures of rising inflation and unemployment. BSE-CMIE-UMich's joint efforts at producing fast frequency measures seem to be providing useful insights into the current state of affairs of the Indian economy.

Unemployment rates are generated as a public good under a joint and private initiative of BSE and CMIE. This initiative produces the only monthly time-series of India's unemployment rate. Chandigarh 07^th September:- To mark National Nutrition Week, an exclusive ‘Nutrition Food Mela’ was organized at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali today. With week’s theme ‘Savor the Flavor of Eating Right’ the mela was organized to raise awareness about the role of nutrition in human development. 

Around 25 nutritious food items were displayed during mela . The main items include idli and chutney , butter milk, coconut balls, apple rabri, chappati noodles, corn spinach cake, tikona parantha, nutritious chikki, rice and cucumber pancake, vegie yummy bites, chocolate wrap, corn salad, pav bhaji etc.

The highlights of mela were; functional food display, nutrition counseling desk, food donation campaign, jingle and skit on healthy eating and a master chef competition on health tiffin. A healthy tiffin competition was also held in which doctors and dieticians of tricity also participated.

Addressing participants, Shivani Gulati, head, clinical nutrition said that while breakfast is given the reputation of being the most important meal of the day, eating lunch is just as essential to staying healthy.

Shivani Gulati further said that going too long without food denies your body glucose, the sugar that supplies your brain with energy. Skipping lunch also slows down your metabolism, leads to overeating and makes it difficult to meet your nutrient needs for the day.

Talking on healthy lunch tiffin ideas, Shivani Gulati said that eating more fruits and veggies, lowering calories and eating less fat should be the prime focus.

Shivani Gulati advised that if weight loss is your goal, prepare healthy, satiating meals that provide your body with plenty of nutrients and little sugar and saturated fat, instead of skipping meals. Opt for a sandwich made with lean protein, like chicken or tuna, on whole wheat bread. Prepare a salad with plenty of vegetables, a handful of nuts and a hard-boiled egg.

Jagmeet Brar Lashes out Capt's Choice of Friends & Advise Him to Save Sympathy for Later

In a scathing comment on Capt's choice of friends he said that we live in a country of 1.2 Billion hardworking honest people, but the only true friends he managed to make include a Pakistani and a coterie of corrupt dallals.

The story opens with the TV Actor, Sukesh Anand playing the role of a society secretary. He along with his society members are planning for Ganesh Utsav. As a part of the preparations, they give the responsibility of organizing the Ganesh Utsav to a group of mischievous kids in the society. While decorating and planning for the celebrations, they get to know that their society watchman is in dire need of financial support. The kids realize that none of the society members are ready to help him.
In order to help the watchman, the kids play a prank on society members and shut the lift. With the lift not working, the society secretary seeks the help of the watchman.Will the kids succeeded in helping the watchman is something that the audiences will get to watch in this week’s story.Manoj Goyal who plays the role of the watchman said that he really like SAB TV’s Khidki’s story concepts. Zee Learn Introduces Pre-school Teacher Training Programme and Kidzee Learning Tab in Punjab

MFIs Loan Disbursement Grows by 29%: MFIN Report

Chandigarh 06^th September:- Microfinance industry has witnessed 29% growth in loan disbursements in the first quarter of FY2016-17 over the last year, according to the recently released quarterly report on the industry byMicrofinance Institutions Network (MFIN), a Self-Regulatory Organisation (SRO) of the RBI regulated NBFC MFIs. In its 18^th edition of the ‘Micrometer Report’ for Q1 FY16-17, MFIN observed that the microfinance industry has experienced a growth of 89% since Q1 FY15-16 and has grown by 9% over the last quarter.

 The aggregate Gross Loan Portfolio (GLP) of MFIs stood at Rs 60, 165 crore in Q1 FY16-17 as compared to Rs 31, 869 crore in Q1 FY15-16.  South India leads the way with 35% share in GLP followed by North at 25% and West at 24% and East contributing 16%. The industry also witnessed the Y-O-Y increase of 48% in client base where MFIs provided microcredit to 3.58 crore clients.

According to Ratna Vishwanathan, Chief Executive Officer, MFIN that the Microfinance Industry has seen a substantial growth over the last one year. With the increase in number of branches, MFIs have been able to increase their outreach thus expanding their beneficiary base.  Total number of loans disbursed has also seen an increase of 29% which significantly contributed to the expansion of the sector. Overall the growth has been healthy and it is an indicator of the fact that confidence in the sector has been growing and there is an evident interest in greater investments in NBFC MFIs.

Over half (57 %)of the total disbursement during the quarter came from 5 states which include- Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Average loan amount disbursed for each beneficiary has also witnessed a growth and stands at Rs 19,930 with a growth of 27% since Q4 FY15-16. The employee base has grown 43% and the NBFC-MFIs now employ 98,287 employees which were 68,578 in the corresponding quarter of the last year. Branch network has also seen an increase of 28% in last one year and now stands at 10,458.

Number of loans disbursed grew by 29% over Q1 FY15-16 and loan amount disbursed grew by 64%. The total loan amount disbursed in Q1 FY16-17 was Rs 18,811 crore which was Rs 11, 487 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last year. In Q1 FY16-17, portfolio at risk (PAR) remained under 1%. The analysis presented in this issue is based on data collected from 57 NBFC–MFIs.

FC Goa Signs Rafael Dumas,Trindade Goncalves and Richarlyson

Chandigarh 06^th September:- FC Goa has announced the signing of three new Brazilian players for the first team squad ahead of the third edition of the Hero Indian Super League. Defender Rafael Dumas and midfielders Richarlyson and Trindade Goncalves have penned a deal that will see them represent Zico's men this season

21 year old defender Rafael Dumas has been loaned from Brazilian side Flamengo where he plays as a centre half. Speed is his forte and he uses this to his advantage to chase and close down attackers. Having played in the junior side of the famed Brazilian team and helping the side win the Junior Campeonato Carioca in 2015, he was promoted to the senior team where he has made one appearance so far. Impressed by his performances in the junior league, Zico gave him the opportunity to join the Indian side to showcase his skills. Alongside veterans like Gregory Arnolin, World Cup winner Lucio and Luciano Sobrosa, the youngster will hope to leave his mark on the tournament.

Trindade Goncalves has played a number of junior tournaments in Brazil as well. The 20 year old played in the Copa Sao Paulo de Futbol Junior against rivals Corinthians and scored a goal while also converting a penalty in the shootout to win the contest. A defensive midfielder by trade, Trindade is adept at shielding the defensive from attacks using his speed and technique.

Richarlyson is the most decorated of the three players. Having represented the national team on two occasions, he has also won numerous domestic titles including the Brazilian league in 2006, 2007 and 2008 with Sao Paulo. The 33 year old is a versatile player and while he plays predominantly in front of the defence, he can also slot in comfortably in the heart of the defence or at left full back. With experience on his side, he will be an asset to Zico's team during the ISL and will help the progression of the younger Brazilians and Indian players as well.
