MCM Awarded Prizes to 400 Students During its Annual Prize Distribution Function

Chandigarh 22nd March:- In recognition of the exceptional achievements of its students in academics, sports and cultural activities, MCM DAV College For Women awarded prizes to a total of 400 students during its Annual Prize Distribution function. H.E. Kalyan Singh, Hon'ble Governor of Rajasthan graced the occasion with his presence as the Chief Guest and Capt.Abhimanyu Singh, Finance Minister, Government of Haryana was the Guest of Honour. Dr.Kulbir Chhikara, Member, HPSC, H.R. Gandhar, Advisor to President DAV College Managing Committee (DAV CMC), Rajinder Nath, Vice President, DAV CMC Principals of various colleges were also present.
The function commenced with the presentation of Annual Report by the Principal of the college, Dr. Nisha Bhargava. The report provided glimpses of the commendable achievements of the college during the academic year. To honor and motivate the meritorious students, cash prizes and trophies worth Rs. 4  lakhs, college colors and special prizes were awarded. Nancy Kanwar (MA-Sociology II) was awarded Roll of Honor for her outstanding performance in academics while the Roll of Honor for overall best performance in cultural activities went to Simran Chaudhary (BA III). The stupendous performance of Bhawna (BA II) in sports won her the Overall Best in Sports prize. The college teams which brought laurels to the college at the zonal and inter-zonal youth festivals through their outstanding showcase of talent were also awarded at the function. It was a nostalgic moment for some of the alumni of the college who were also honored during the function for their inspiring contribution in various fields; the alumni honored being Sr. Adv. Reeta Kohli, Additional Advocate General (Punjab), Ms.Yojana Rawat, Chairperson, USOL, PU and Ms. Monica Gupta, Principal, Shemrock Wonders Pre School, Greater Mohali.
The faculty members of MCM were also felicitated for their inspiring achievements including 5 who completed their Doctorate degrees, 7 who published books, 6 who co-authored books and 1 who co-edited a book. Dr. Meera Madan, Former Head of Department of Music Instrumental of the College was felicitated for her generous donation to promote the deserving students of Music department of the college. Ms. Neena Sharma, Associate Professor, English Department and Dr. Mridula Sharma, Assistant Professor, English Department were also honored for paper presentations at International Conferences at Dubai and Barcelona, respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Governor Kalyan Singh expressed appreciation for the emphasis laid on the holistic development of the students at MCM that is evident in the achievements of the students in various fields. He also motivated the students to play a constructive role in the society.

Dr. Nisha Bhargava, MCM Principal congratulated the prize winners for keeping alive the inimitable tradition of excellence of MCM. Advising the students to never rest on their laurels, Dr. Nisha exhorted them to work towards their goals with focused determination.

Punjab Govt. Will Work Dedicatedly with Policy and Procedure:Dharamsot

Chandigarh 22nd March:- People of Punjab has shown their affection and selected the congress govt. in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amrinder singh. As such, to meet their expectations, govt. will work dedicatedly with policy and procedure. Now the time has came to oblige the public by fulfilling the promises made to them before elections and govt. will take each and every step for this. This was stated by Sadhu Singh Dharamsot Minister Forest & Wild Life, Printing & stationary and social welfare SC BC, while addressing the press before conducting a state level meeting with officials of forest department at Forest Complex.
Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that the main agenda of this meeting is to boost up the officials of Forest department and to prepare a concrete action plan and to ensure honest and dedicated working procedure by fixing the responsibility of officials. He said that negligence towards duty will not be accepted at any cost and corrupt officials will not be exempted, they will be directly thrown out. Addressing the question regarding Atta Dal scheme, he said that the scheme will be continued as per earlier practices and to ensure proper distribution survey will be conducted again and the persons who are not eligible and availing the scheme by any means will not be exempted.
Addressing the press regarding illegal encroachment of forest land, he said that strict action will be taken against violators indulge in illegal encroachment of Forest Departments land in the state.  The violators will not be exempted, no matter how big they are.
 A concrete action plan will be prepared in this regard. He further said that work for fixing barbed wire in Kandi area to ensure protection of crops from wild animals, will be completed soon. He said that some are of forest will also be cultivated to prevent wild animals from the field. This will ensure protection of crops from wild animals as well as wild animals will also get protected. He said that the dry & gaunt trees will be removed and new sapling will be done. Addressing a question regarding allotment of department to him, he said that he is satisfied with the distribution of departments done by Chief Minister Punjab and he will perform dedicatedly for ensuring better working in these departments as these departments are deeply linked with the general public. During this he expressed gratitude to people of Punjab through press, for selecting the Congress Govt. in the state. He also appreciated the steps initiated by CM Punjab for curbing the VIP culture in the state, and taking back the security. Later addressing the state level meeting of senior officials of forest department, he directed to ensure transparent working with policy & procedure. During this, Dharindera Singh Chief Conservation, Jatinder Singh MD Punjab State Forest Development Corporation, PA Kaabal Singh along with other senior officials and forest officers from other districts of Punjab were present.


Bar Association organizes Conference on Self Reliant Development and World Peace

Chandigarh 22nd March:- A conference on ‘Self Reliant development and World Peace’ was held  in Hotel Ramada Plaza in the presence of HMJ, Vijender Jain, Former Chief Justice Punjab and Haryana  High Court, Chandigarh, R.I. Hak Mu, Director General of Korean Association of Social Sciences, His Excelency Kye Chun Yong, Ambassadar of democratice People Republic of Korea, Harish Gupta Director General of Association Regional Institute of Juche Idea, Hon’ble judge, Members of the Bar council and other dignitaries.
Piyushi Jain welcomed all the dignitaries present in the conference.  Harish gupta, director General of Asian Regional Institute of Juche Idea spoke and given brief introducion of the Juche Idea and praised the Chandigarh beautiful. 
Ri. Hak Mu, Director General of Korean association of social sciences, His excelency Kay Chun yong, Ambassadar of democratic People Republic of Korea spoke on the issue.
At the end HMJ, Vijender Jain, Former Chief Justice Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh spoke on the issue.
At the end a declaration of Asian Regional Seminar for Juche Idea was unanimously passed.
The function was attended more than 100 dignitaries. The function was organized by Director General of Asian Regional Institue of Juche Idea.


Nirankari Mahila Samagam Held at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan

Chandigarh 22nd March:-  With the blessings of Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj, a Nirankari Mahila Samagam of Chandigarh Branch was held here today, at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Sector 30 A, Chandigarh. Joginder Kaur, Member Incharge, Prachar and Training Vibhag, Sant Nurankari Mandal, New Delhi, presided over the Samagam.
She said that Nirankari mission is removing illusions and blind faith from the minds of people, in every corner of the country and the world. She further said that people are being taught to rise above the differences of caste and creed, color, dislike towards anyone’s personal tastes in eating and dressing. She further said that they are being taught to treat everyone as children of one father and tread the path of love and humanity. In this, the role of women is also important along with men.
In this Samagam, hundreds of women from Sectors 15, 30, 40, 45 and Manimajra of Chandigarh areas participated. On this occasion, women gave their messages through speeches and songs in different languages. They said that it is in the hands of women to turn a home into heaven, instill moral values in their children, and develop an atmosphere of “Gurumat” at homes, as it is the first school. They can motivate family members to attend congregations, speak sweetly, behave properly, and adopt traits of love, compassion, tolerance, mercy, politeness and worshipping with full faith by keeping away from illusions. Teachings of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj to maintain human values were also discussed in this Samagam.
Pondering on the lives of Nirankari Jagat Mata Budhwanti Ji and Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji, she said that we must take motivation from them. They were not only ideal wives but also ideal mothers, mothers-in-law, Guru Sikh, ideal citizens, social workers and great Parcharaks.
During this, the preaching of Baba Buta Singh Ji, Baba Avtar Singh Ji, Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji and Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj were also highlighted.
On this occasion Smt. Bhagwan Devi Ji, Incharge Chandigarh Mahilla Sangat, thanked Smt. Joginder Kaur Ji on behalf of the entire sangat of Chandigarh. She also expressed gratitude to devotees for being a part of the Samagam.

ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਸਪਰਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬਦੇਹ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਣਬੁੱਝ ਕੇ ਗਲਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਨੁੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਤੇ ਬਖਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੱਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਤਹਿਸੀਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਕੰਪਲੇੈਕਸ ਦੇ ਦਾਖਲਾ ਪੁਆਇੰਟਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਾਈਨ ਬੋਰਡ ਲਗਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਣ ਸਮੇਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਦਫ਼ਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਲੱਭਣ ਲਈ ਖੱਜਲ ਖੁਆਰ ਨਾਂ ਹੋਣਾ ਪਵੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੈਂਪ ਆਫਿਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਉਣਗੇਂ ਸਗੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਾਂ ਸੁਨਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਾਜ ਨਿਪਟਾਉਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਧੀਮਾਨ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ

Six day International Public Health Management Development Programme:Panelist Discussed Issues,Opportunities and Challenges in Health Organizations

Chandigarh 21st March:- On the second day the sessions started with feedback on the previous day sessions from participants and discussion of case studies brought by participants.
Dr Sonu Goel, Additional Professor, School of Public Health, PGI, Chandigarh and Program Director introduced the concept of project management and importance of Planning, Organizing, Controlling and measuring in national health programs.
Dr Preethi Pradhan, Dean, Chitkara School of Health Sciences Chitkara University, Punjab took a session on human resource planning and job analysis, training needs assessment and skill development recruitment and selection. The session would help participants in applying principles of Human Resource Management like recruitment and selection, performance appraisal in their respective health care setting. By means of case studies, she also discussed application of theory in public health.
Dr Manjushri Faculty of Punjab University deliberated on Inventory Control Techniques in Healthcare Organizations. She discussed purpose, importance and various techniques of inventory management in public health systems. By means of case studies, she mentioned role of correctly projecting drugs/equipments in hospitals to avoid stock outs and improve drug supplies, so that all patients get drugs timely. 
Dr. Arun Aggarwal, Professor of Community Medicine, School of Public Health, PGI, Chandigarh briefed audience about material planning and forecasting technique, and purchase and procurement procedures. He described that all steps followed in purchase and procurement should be expedited for optimal functioning of hospitals and better patient care. All sessions were highly interactive and followed by their respective case study, relevant videos and associated management games. There was also an outdoor activity in the form of management games at plaza sector 17 which was thoroughly enjoyed by participants.

Chandigarh 21st March:- ਭਰੂਣ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਖਾਤਮੇ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਵਰਗ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਭਰੂਣ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਰੋਕਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਸੀ ਨਰੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ  ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਖੁਦ ਇਸ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਰੋਲ ਅਦਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਇਮਰੀ ਹੈਲਥ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਮਜਾਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਿਵਲ ਸਰਜਨ ਡਾ ਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਬੱਚੀ ਭਰੂਣ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਵਰਕਸਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਬੰਧੋਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ 
ਸਿਵਲ ਸਰਜਨ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜੌਕੇ ਯੂੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰੂਣ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਉਭਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਕਦਰਾਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਢਾਹ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬੱਚੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਚਿਤ ਨਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਿੰਨ-ਭੇਦ ਕਿਉਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ? ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਅੱਜ ਲੜਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੁੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਣ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਮੌਕੇ ਦੇਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲਿੰਗ ਅਨੁਪਾਤ ਘਟਣਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਅਨੁਪਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ, ਸਹੁਰਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ, ਡਾਕਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਤਵਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਵਰਕਸਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਂਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਿਹਤ ਭਲਾਈ ਅਫਸਰ ਡਾ ਊਸਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਭਰੂਣ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਵਰਕਸਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਅਫਸਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਇਮਰੀ ਹੈਲਥ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਘੜੁੰਆਂ ਡਾ: ਕੁਲਜੀਤ, ਡਾ: ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮਾਸ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਅਫਸਰ ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ

Richa Aggarwal Wins Ravishing Wedding Awards for Being Best in Bridal Makeovers

Chandigarh 21st March:- Ravishing Wedding Awards were held today at Onara resorts & hotel and endeavored to felicitate the prominent personalities from wedding industry and give away the biggest industry of India its due importance. Awards were given in vivid categories and the show catered to the crème la de crème of the society including makeup artists, fashion designers, jewelers, wedding planners, socialites and industrialists. The evening was hosted by RK Nanda & Shweta Nanda of Ravishing Wedding.  
Bollywood glamour and starry attraction to the evening were added by Bollywood's beautiful actress Urmila Matondkar and stunning Malaika Arora Khan. 
Richa Aggarwal and Cleopatra Spa and salon were honored to receive the award for being best in bridal makeovers. Urmila Matondkar awarded Richa Aggarwal, Sachin and Harveen Kathuria from Cleopatra beauty wellness & makeovers with prestigious award “BEST BRIDAL MAKEOVERS ".
The awards are known for its credibility and are chosen on the basis of voting and survey and opinion polls. The evening was studded with fashionistas and socialites and experts from different spheres and professions.  
Host & organizer of the event R.K. Nanda also congratulated Richa on receiving award and said that Richa is very dedicated to her work , she has been winning this award for a few years now and she has maintained and even gone a level above in her passion for her work. Richa Aggarwal was very humbled with the appreciation of her work and was very grateful too. She said that it is a great honor to be awarded with such a prestigious award especially for Bridal Makeup Category as every bride desires to look the best on her wedding day. She feels privileged to receive the award from beautiful Urmila Matondkar amongst experts of the Industry. Winning the award consecutively was indeed a challenge but Cleopatra with best services, innovation and trendsetting techniques in bridal makeovers has been able to win the award.
