विज्ञान की लोकप्रियता पर निबंध लेखन प्रतियोगिता आयोजित

Chandigarh 30th October:- महर्षि दयानंद पब्लिक स्कूल दरिया चंडीगढ़ में विज्ञान की लोकप्रियता पर निबंध लेखन प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन चंडीगढ़ रिन्यूअल एनर्जी ,साइंस  एंड टेक्नोलॉजी प्रमोशनल सोसाइटी, चंडीगढ़  के सहयोग से किया गया।  प्रतियोगिता को जूनियर और सीनियर सीनियर केटेगरी में बांटा गया।  निबंध लेखन के माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों ने बताया  कि आज सभी क्षेत्रों में प्रौद्योगिकी की प्रगति हुई है।  विज्ञान कुशल तरीके से संसाधनों का पुन: उपयोग करने के तरीकों को खोजने में मदद कर सकता है। उन्होंने बताया कि विज्ञान मानव के जीवन को सुगम बनाने में अपनी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रहा है।  हमें नई  तकनीक को अपने उत्थान के लिए अवश्य प्रयोग करना चाहिए।  
उन्होंने बताया कि बताया कि विज्ञान कृषि, बागवानी, प्रदूषण नियंत्रण, बिजली उत्पादन, शिक्षा, रक्षा क्षेत्र, अंतरिक्ष अन्वेषण इत्यादि में सुधार करने में मदद कर सकता है। विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी असली शक्ति है। इसमें सभी मनुष्यों की समस्याओं और चुनौतियों को हल करने की क्षमता है। प्रदूषण, पर्यावरणीय गिरावट इत्यादि से संबंधित सभी समस्याओं को विज्ञान का उपयोग करके हल किया जा सकता है। विषाक्त गैसों को उत्सर्जित करने वाले सभी वाहनों को विज्ञान का उपयोग करके शून्य उत्सर्जन वाहनों में परिवर्तित किया जा सकता है। विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी देश को तेजी से विकसित करने में मदद कर सकती है। हमें समस्याओं का सामना करने के लिए विज्ञान का उपयोग करना चाहिए। 
जूनियर कैटिगरी में प्रदीपसाहिल और सुरेंद्र को क्रमश प्रथम द्वितीय एवं तृतीय स्थान मिला।  वहीं वरिष्ठ वर्ग में  योजना कराया जतिन राजा और स्नेहा को क्रमश: पहला, दूसरा और तीसरा पुरस्कार मिला।
प्रिंसिपल डॉ. विनोद कुमार ने बताया कि इस कार्यक्रम का मुख्य उद्देश्य विज्ञान का दैनिक जीवन में उपयोग तथा बढ़ती लोकप्रियता की जानकारी देना था।  कार्यक्रम के समापन पर उन्होंने विजेताओं को सम्मानित भी किया।

21,000 Beneficiaries are Getting Social Security Pensions Under Different Pension Schemes: Ramdas Athawale

Chandigarh 30th October:- Ramdas Athawale, Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India visited Chandigarh today to discuss the schemes and issues relating to Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Class and Persons with Disability. The Hon’ble Minister held a meeting with the officers of the Social Welfare Department, during which Secretary Social Welfare, UT, Chandigarh was also present.   
The Director Social Welfare welcomed Hon’ble Minister on behalf of the Chandigarh Administration and briefed him about the schemes and issues relating to the SC/OBC.  Hon’ble Minister was also apprised that Chandigarh being a small city state, the number of cases of atrocities against SCs is quite negligible. Regarding payment of relief/compensation to the victim of the atrocity, it has informed that a clarification has been sought from Government of India, but reply in the matter has not been received, so far. The Hon’ble Minister assured that the reply in the matter from Government of India will be sent shortly.
It has also informed that during the year 2018-19, funds amounting to Rs.40.00 Lakh received from the Government of India for the scheme Inter-caste Marriage have been fully utilized. Further it was shared that approximately 21,000 beneficiaries are getting social security pensions under different pension schemes viz. Old Age/ Widow/ Disabled / Dependent Children of Widows/Destitute Women.
State Liaison Officer of Scholarship Schemes informed the Hon’ble Minister that funds amounting to Rs.12.00 Crore (approximate) under scholarship schemes relating to Scheduled Caste/Other Backward Class have not yet been received from Government of India. The Hon’ble Minister has given assurance for an early release of pending funds under Scholarship Schemes.

परवीन रजवाल ने बताया कि जैसे हर चीज़ या सामान की एक प्रोपर जगह होती है, वेसे ही घर पर पड़ी हुई चीज़ों को अगर सही दिशा में रखा जाए तो आपके घर मे वास्तु दोष खत्म हो सकता है, जैसे पूजा स्थान की जगह ईशान कोण (उत्तर पूर्व) को माना गया है, तो इस दिशा में पुजा स्थान होने से ओर इस दिशा में पूजा पाठ करने से आपको फल अवश्य  मिलता है।

Sahayta Charitable Welfare Society organises a Breast Cancer Walkathon

Chandigarh 29th October:- To celebrate 'Pink October' as Breast & Cervix Cancer Awareness Month, Sahayta Charitable Welfare Society, organized a 'Breast Cancer Walkathon', at Sukhna Lake here. Shashank Anand, SSP, Traffic and Security, Chandigarh flagged off the walkathon.
Hundreds of people from different strata of society took part in the event, to show their support for the cause of spreading awareness to curtail spread of breast cancer & for its early detection & treatment. The list of participants included cancer survivors, senior doctors from PGIMER and Government Hospital, Sec 32, Principals & students of various colleges like IQ Institute and schools like St. Kabir, Carmel Convent, Strawberry Fields, St. Stephen’s, St. Joseph etc. Apart from this teachers from St. Johns also took part in the walk. Lt. Col Neelam Thakur along with her NCC Cadets from Army, Air Force and Navy Wings, Army Generals, Veterans and army wives were also part of the walk. Members of NGO's like Triya- Spend For a Cause, Rotary Club, Inner Wheel Club also walked for the cause. SBI Ladies Club, Chandigarh Senior Citizens Association, members of High Court Bar association, CESA- Carmel Ex Students Association, World of Women Architects  and aware citizens of the Tricity , participated in the Chandigarh City 'Pink Walk'.  
It is noteworthy that a doctor’s corner was set up to answer the queries of the public. The theme for breast cancer awareness month is ‘Breast Self Examination-a Step Towards Surviving Cancer’ and ‘Early Detection is your Best as well as breast Protection’.
According to Renu Saigal, President, Sahayta Charitable Welfare Society, & who is also a cancer survivor said that October is a significant month for women living with breast cancer. This month, fondly described as ‘Pink October’ is celebrated all over the world as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is also a prime opportunity to remind women to be breast aware for early detection. The pink looped Ribbon is an internationally recognized symbol for breast cancer. People buy pink ribbons to honour women living with breast cancer, remember those lost to the disease and at the same time support research for cure.
It is pertinent to mention here that the colour ‘pink’ signifies that with early detection and prompt treatment, every woman has a chance of returning to the ‘Pink’ of health. The importance that October has for breast cancer awareness can be gauged from the fact that historic landmarks and monuments all over the world are illuminated in Pink in October, to focus worldwide attention on breast cancer awareness.



SIA Conduct a Talk on say #NoToAbuse Against Elderly

Chandigarh 29th October:- Second Innings Association conducted a joint talk on say #NoToAbuse against elderly at Le Corbusier Centre, Chandigarh. The main aim of the meeting was to express the abuse being faced by the elderlies.  Help Age India also provided the helping hand to the event by showing a movie and creating awareness amongst those present about speaking up when they are being abused.
S S Lamba, patron of Second Innings Association, commenced the program with his welcome address and apprised the audience about the importance of the event. He emphasized that every second senior citizen is subject to abuse be it mentally, physically or financially. He asked the members present to speak up in case they had gone through any such abuse.
Thereafter the President of Second Innings Association, R K Garg, who is also a well known RTI activist interacted with the audience. He said that speaking about the abuse is difficult as it involves personal repute and prestige of elderly, so in order to address such personal matters and discussion, a panel is being formed where the senior citizens can discuss their issues. He assured that all such abuses/harassment etc. shall be reported to appropriate authorities for necessary relief to the victims. He also proposed a memorandum of demands of the senior citizens from Chandigarh Administration. The memorandum was discussed at the meeting and after the consent of the members the same is being submitted with UT Administrator, V P Badnore for necessary instructions and orders.
SIA also engaged a volunteer Advocate Vinay Jinghan who assured to provide the legal remedies to the senior citizens who find themselves being abused but could not speak up till now. A counselling committee was also formed in name of “My Counsel” especially for senior citizens where they can share their incidents of being abused against proper remedies would be provided. 
Thereafter Deepika Gandhi, Director of Le Corbusier Centre also addressed the members present and discussed the issue of abuse to elderly in details. She apprised regarding the type of abuses generally faced and small measures to stop and cure such abuses. She assured her full cooperation and support to this initiative of SIA. She also announced the Twitter handle #NoToAbuse where the elderlies could post their issues.

25 KVP Solar Power Plant Installed at Ankur School: 100 Units of Electricity Will be Able to Produce Daily

Chandigarh 29th October:- A Solar Power Plant has been set up at Ankur School, Sector 14, which was inaugurated by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Punjab University.
During this, the School Management Committee's President Kusum Singh, Principal Dr. Parminder Duggal and Committee member Prof. (Dr.) AK Sahajanpal, Dr. Anil Kumar, Dr. SK Mehta and Dr. Ramesh were also present.
Solar power plant installed in the school premises is 25 KVP which is capable of generating about 100 units per day electricity. With the establishment of Solar Power Plant in the school, the school will now be able to fully control the consumption of power. Solar Power Plant has been established at Ankur School in Panjab University campus, from which it will become the first education institute in Punjab University.
On this occasion, Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University of Punjab said that establishing a solar power plant in the school and preserving energy (power) is a commendable step towards school management. He congratulated the School Management Committee for setting up this project.
On this occasion, the school's Principal Dr. Parminder Duggal said that during the use of renewable sources of energy in the school, the students were always being educated through the syllabus. Establishing a Solar Plant in the school is a living example of saving energy for the students. This effort will not only preserve energy but also give the student a clean environment.



Employees Takes Pledge of Vigilance Awareness Week

In pursuit of the vision of the Government of India to make a New India by the year 2022, which is the 75th anniversary of our independence, the Central Vigilance Commission, as the apex integrity institution of the country, endeavor to promote integrity, transparency and accountability in public life.
Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week every year is to encourage all stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of, and the fight against corruption and to raise public awareness regarding the existence, causes and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption.  The Commission has decided that this year the Vigilance Awareness would be observed from 29th October to 3rd November, 2018 with the theme “Eradicate Corruption-Build a New India”
E-governance, and systemic changes in procedures, minimal discretion, reduced public interface, technology based procurement and automation will go a long way in reducing corruption.  The Commission has, therefore, been advising all organizations/departments to identify and implement effective preventive measures to fight corruption and to enhance transparency and accountability in their functioning.  The Commission has accordingly chosen “Eradicate Corruption-Built a New India” as the main theme for Vigilance Awareness Week, 2018.

Chandigarh 26th October:- दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के हरियाणा दौरे से बैकफुट पर आई खट्टर सरकार अब शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य जैसे मुद्दों की बात करने लगी है। शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र में दिल्ली में ऐतिहासिक काम करने वाले अरविंद केजरीवाल ने अपनी रणनीति से हरियाणा सरकार को इन मुद्दों पर बात करने के लिए मजबूर कर दिया है। आम आदमी पार्टी की तरफ से जारी किये गये एक बयान में कहा गया है कि हरियाणा सरकार के 4 साल पूरे होने के मौके पर पंचकुला में मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर ने कहा कि उनकी सरकार शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य पर फोकस करेगीये जनता को गुमराह करने के अलावा और कुछ भी नहीं है। सवाल ये है कि अरविंद केजरीवाल के हरियाणा दौरे के बाद ही उन्हें ये बात समझ में क्यों आई कि शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य जैसी मूलभूत सुविधाओं पर फोकस करना उनकी जिम्मेदारी है।
आम आदमी पार्टी की तरफ से जारी किये गये बयान के मुताबिक  चार साल बीत जाने के बाद अब हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर जनता को गुमराह कर रहे हैं। दिल्ली के सरकारी स्कूलों और अस्पतालों की हालत हरियाणा के स्कूलों-अस्पतालों से भी बदतर थी लेकिन अरविंद केजरीवाल ने महज तीन साल में उनकी कायापलट करके दिखा दिया कि अगर नीयत साफ हो और ईमानदारी से सरकार चलाई जाए तो असंभव से दिखने वाले कामों को भी किया जा सकता है। लेकिन हरियाणा सरकार चार साल बीत जाने के बाद भी ऐसा कुछ नहीं कर पाई। अब चुनाव सिर पर देखकर और अरविंद केजरीवाल के हरियाणा दौरे से घबराई खट्टर सरकार ये दावे कर रही है कि अगले एक साल उसका फोकस शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य पर होगाइस पर कैसे भरोसा किया जा सकता है।
आम आदमी पार्टी की तरफ से जारी किये गये बयान में ये भी कहा गया है कि दिल्ली पूर्ण राज्य नहीं है। केंद्र सरकार और वहां के उप-राज्यपाल की तरफ से तमाम अड़चनों के बाद केजरीवाल ने दिल्ली में अनेक काम करके दिखा दियेजबकि दूसरी तरफ से खट्टर के पास पूरी पावर हैकेंद्र में भी उनकी सरकार हैराज्यपाल भी उनकी पार्टी के हैंइसके बाद भी वो पूरी तरह फेल साबित हुए हैं।
आम आदमी पार्टी ने आरोप लगाया है कि खट्टर सरकार ने पिछले चार साल के दौरान सिर्फ जाटों को गैर-जाटों से लड़ाने की राजनीति की है। सरकार के पास विकास कार्यों को लेकर कोई विजन नहीं है। ऐसे में अब शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य पर फोकस करने की बात हास्यास्पद लगती है।
बयान में ये भी कहा गया है कि अरविंद केजरीवाल की रणनीति से खट्टर सरकार किस कदर डरी हुई हैइसका अंदाजा इस बात से लगाया जा सकता है कि हरियाणा के खस्ताहाल स्कूलों-अस्पतालों के दौरे की घोषणा होते ही दिन-रात मजदूर लगाकर उन स्कूलों को दुरुस्त करने की कोशिश की गई जिन्हें देखने अरविंद केजरीवाल आने वाले थे। हालांकि इतनी मेहनत के बाद भी उन स्कूलों के हालात में कोई खास बदलाव नहीं हो पाए।
उल्लेखनीय है कि दिल्ली के सरकारी स्कूलों और अस्पतालों के देखने के बाद हरियाणा के कुछ लोगों ने दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल से मुलाकात करके उनसे अनुरोध किया था कि वे आकर हरियाणा के स्कूल औऱ अस्पताल भी देख लें। इसके बाद अरविंद केजरीवाल ने उप-मुख्यमंत्री व शिक्षा मंत्री मनीष सिसोदियास्वास्थ्य मंत्री सत्येंद्र जैन औऱ हरियाणा के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष नवीन जयहिंद के साथ बेरी और तोशाम विधानसभा के कुछ स्कूलों का दौरा किया।


विश्वास फाऊंडेशन, एच.डी.एफ.सी बैंक व डिस्ट्रीक्ट बार एसोसिऐशन ने लगाया रक्तदान शिविर

Chandigarh 26th October:- विश्वास फाउंडेशन व एच.डी.एफ.सी बैंक ने परम पूज्य गुरुदेव श्री स्वामी विश्वास जी के आशीर्वाद से चण्डीगढ़ सेक्टर 43 की डिस्ट्रीक्ट कोर्ट में रक्तदान कैंप लगाया। यह कैंप एच.डी.एफ.सी बैंक व डिस्ट्रीक्ट बार एसोसिऐशन के सहयोग से लगाया गया। कैंप का संचालन ब्लड बैंक पी.जी.आई चण्डीगढ़ की टीम ने किया। कैंप में 192 रक्तदानियों ने भाग लिया, जिसमें से 156 रक्तदानियों ने रक्तदान किया।
इस कैंप का उदघाटन बलबीर सिंह डिस्ट्रीक्ट व सैशन जज विश्वास फाउंडेशन की जनरल सेक्रेटरी साध्वी नीलिमा विश्वास एच.डी.एफ.सी बैंक से नीतिन कुमार व नीरज भाटिया डिस्ट्रीक्ट बार एसोसिऐशन के प्रधान अशोक चौहान, सैक्रेटरी सुनील नारंग व अन्य पदाधिकारियों ने रिबन काटकर व दीप जलाकर कैंप की शुरूआत की।
सुबह शुरू हुआ यह कैंप दोपहर बजे तक चला। सभी ब्लड डोनर्स के लिए डाक्टरों द्वारा रिकमेंड रिफ्रेशमेंट का इंतजाम किया गया। सभी रक्तदानियों को उपहार के रूप में सर्टिफिकेट व बैज देकर सम्मानित किया गया।

मांगों की अनदेखी के खिलाफ बिजली कर्मियों की रोष रैली 2 नवम्बर 2018 को

Chandigarh 26th October:- प्रशासन द्वारा बिजली कर्मियों की मांगों की लगातार की जा रही अनदेखी के विरोध में यूनियन द्वारा 2 नवम्बर 2018 को विशाल रोष रैली व प्रदर्शन किया जायेगा। रोष रैली व प्रदर्शन की तैयारी के संबंध में आज यूनियन के सभी पदाधिकारियों, कार्यकारी सदस्यों व विशेष आमंत्रित सदस्यों की महत्वपूर्ण बैठक की गई तथा 2 नवम्बर को रोष रैली व धरना देने के बाद लडीवार सारी डिवीजनों में भी धरनों का सिलसिला जारी रखा जाएगा जो पूरे नवम्बर के महीने चलेगा तथा दिसम्बर में हड़ताल का नोटिस दिया जाएगा। आज की मीटिंग में सभी दफतरों के प्रतिनिधियों ने बड़ी संख्या में भाग लिया।
मीटिंग के बाद  यूनियन के महासचिव गोपाल दत्त जोशी ने बताया कि 2 नवम्बर का धरना  मांगों पर नाकारात्मक रवैया अपनाने के लिए प्रशासन खासकर इन्जीनियरिंग विभाग के अधिकारियों के अडीयल रवैये के विरोध में किया जा रहा है। यूनियन के प्रतिनिधियों ने प्रशासन के अधिकारियों की कड़ी आलोचना की तथा आरोप लगाया कि अधिकारी विभाग में संशोधित 780 पोस्टों में से खाली पड़ी 5 पोस्टें एसडीओ, 30 से अधिक जूनियर इंजीनियर, 94 लाईनमैन, 350 सहायक लाइनमैन, 57 एलडीसी, 34 यूडीसी, 37 एस एस ए, 18 मीटर रीडर, 27 चपड़ासी, 20 चैकीदार, 15 ट्रेडमेट आदि कैटेगरीज के अलावा कुल 730  से अधिक खाली पोस्टों को भरने में असफल रहे हैं जिस कारण् वर्तमान कर्मचारियों पर काम का बोझ बढ़ रहा है तथा उपभोक्ताओं की शिकायतों का समाधन समय पर नहीं हो रहा है तथा रिपेयर व मरम्मत का काम ठप्प पड़ा है।
यहां तक कि नये कनैक्शन तथा सोलर के कनैक्शनों  को देने के लिए कोई भी कर्मचारी नहीं है। प्रशासन  के अधिकारी जानबूझ कर अन्जान बन रहे हैं तथा तमाशबीन बने हुए है। इसके इलावा 5 प्रतिशत सीलिंग खत्म कर मृतक कर्मचारियों के आश्रितों को नौकरी देने , कर्मचारियेां के लिए बनाये गये भर्ती व पदोन्नती के नियमेां में संशोध्न करने, वेतन विसंगति दूर करने, हर शिकायत केन्द्र पर गाड़ियों का इन्तजाम करने, औजार सुरक्षा उपकरण, बैठने व पीने के पानी का इन्तजाम करने, कम्पयूटरों का प्रबन्ध करने, तेल, साबुन का भुगतान करने व कर्मचारियों से गैर जरूरी काम लेने की बजाये उनसे निर्धारित डयूटी ही कराने, डयूटी के दौरान मृतक कर्मियों के आश्रितों को पैन्शन , मुआवजे का भुगतान करने, मकानों की मरम्मत के काम में तेजी लाने तथा सफेदी, पैन्ट व सिमोसम कराने  तथा आऊट सोर्स पर रखे गये कर्मचारियों को 7 तारीख से पहले वेतन दिलाने व ए एल एम को पिछली तारीख से डी सी रेट का ऐरियर दिलाने आदि मांगों पर भी सम्बन्धित अधिकारी चुप्पी साध्कर बैठ है। इसके अतिरिक्त  डिविजन स्तर की  कई समस्याऐं ज्यों की त्यों पैडिंग पड़ी है।
मीटिंग में विभाग के सभी कर्मचारियों से 2 नवंबर 2018 को बिजली दफतर, सैक्टर 17 के सामने दिये जा रहे धरने में भारी संख्या में शामिल होने की अपील की है, जिसमें  संघर्ष के अगले पड़ाव का ऐलान किया जाएगा।

Priya Jain Kicked off Awareness Campaign: Meting out Benefits of Ayushman Bharat and Other Health Schemes

Chandigarh 26th October:- Philanthropist and social Entrepreneur Priya Jain, known for kick starting several Socio health initiatives recently joined hands with another cause dedicated to health for all. Priya jain kicked off an awareness campaign that is meting out benefits of Ayushman Bharat and various other health schemes to needy and poor people from across the country.  Campaign aims at creating awareness about different health welfare schemes  and disseminating information pertaining with benefits for poor people. On asking about her inspiration behind this Priya stated that while leaving for Jaipur one day a saw an extremely poor women with her infant, she was selling books on red light, her pale and feeble condition clearly reflected state of malnutrition, her infant also looked very weak,  on asking about her family she told her that her other child passed away because they did not have money to buy medicines for him, their feeble state made her feel very shocked and depressed, although these kind of scenes are not new in the city but anyone not able to receive medical attention and treatment is sorry state of affairs for us. She also have facts that many poor people in need don't have right knowledge and information about various schemes and benefits that offer them medical help without any cost, awareness is the predicament for them. So she tried to plugin the loophole in a way of spreading word about various benefits of medical schemes.
This initiative by Priya is being kicked off in urban and remote areas, tier 2 cities through various activities, speaking further on the issue Priya stated that in prevailing such unfortunate situations Prime Minister Narendar Modi  has come as a savior. His recently launched Ayushman Bharat-National Health Protection Mission that has been launched from the land of Jharkhand  covers more than 10 crore Poor and Vulnerable families. It is an insurance scheme which covers costing upto Rs 5 lakh per family per year for medical treatment. Certainly  there would be many challenges while implementing this scheme. She concluded by saying that this is the time and call of the hour that every citizen, organisation especially Private Hospitals will have to be co-operative and helping poor and needy as per the true essence of the scheme.

PGI organizes 2nd National Workshop cum Hands on Training on “Pharmacogenomics Using Next Generation Sequencing"

Chandigarh 26th October:- The Experimental Pharmacology laboratory (EPL), in Department of Pharmacology, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh organized the 2nd National Workshop cum Hands on training on “Pharmacogenomics using next generation sequencing “ in alliance with Medical Pharmacology Society (MPS-research Council) from 25th-27th Oct, 2018 at PGIMER, Chandigarh. The Organizing Chairman of this unique workshop was Prof. Bikash Medhi and Dr. Phulen Sarma was the Organizing Secretary. The workshop continued for 2nd day with the aim of empowering the hands-on-skill to the participants.
The officials from Thermo Fischer Scientific illustrated the basics of NGS with an opening lecture on “Introduction to Primary Analysis-Ion TorrentTM S5. The lecture emphasized entirely on  the use of Ion-Torrent NGS in multiple applications including inherited diseases, oncology, infectious diseases, reproductive genomics, human identification, and agrigenomics. The lecture was accompanied by a practical demonstration to exemplify the basic functioning of this technology. An official visit of the Central Sophisticated Instruments Cell (CSIC), PGIMER was also organized for the participants. The solemn aim of the workshop was to provide training to scientists, faculty and students working in the field of pharmacogenomics and to generate valuable trained human resource on personalized medicine, so that the attendees can spread the knowledge obtained in their respective institutes.
