Congress Should Field Woman Candidate from Chandigarh’: Former Mayor Poonam Sharma

Chandigarh 15th January:- If Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) could field women candidates for Lok Sabha elections so why not Congress President, Rahul Gandhi. If it happens, it would be a landmark decision of the Congress, because so far in the ‘City Beautiful’ Congress has not taken such a decision despite the fact that woman can run a state as efficiently as she can run a family. This was stated by Poonam Sharma, former Mayor. She has also held the position of Chandigarh Mahila Congress President. Poonam Sharma was addressing the media at Chandigarh Press Club in Sector 27 here today.

In a letter to Rahul Gandhi, Poonam Sharma has demanded that this time woman candidate should be given ticket for Chandigarh MP seat. She added that the candidate should be from city who knows about its issues, who is dedicated and who has the determination to bring about a change in the city. In her letter to the Congress Chief, Poonam Sharma has stated instead of fielding a celebrity, someone from the city should be given an opportunity.

Poonam Sharma said that she had already got a feedback from various social organizations and city residents, who are also of the view that a woman candidate should be fielded by Congress. She added further that today women can walk shoulder to shoulder with men and have the capability of working at par with them, which was evident from her performance as a mayor in 2015, when she worked effectively for the betterment of city, she added.

The former mayor said, city needs a person who understands the problems of city residents, and is capable of working for the betterment of city, which would come as a welcome decision of Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi and will set an example. Poonam Sharma said that there is a need for someone who strongly advocates women empowerment and shows keen interest in working for the improvement of city.

She further also announced that she along with other Congress leaders will start door to door campaign in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. She also appealed to the senior leaders of Congress to come forward in support of her demand to field a woman candidate from Chandigarh this time.

Steps Growing Academy Released Baby and Junior Super Kidd Model-2015 Calendar

Chandigarh 10th Jan,2019:- The Calendar of Baby and Junior Super Kid Model-2015 was released today by Steps Growing Academy Chandigarh. The calendar was released by the six-month-old baby model Dhwani Mahajan. In the Baby Calendar the children of 00 to 04 age group have been included and in the Junior Super Kids Model, children in the age group of 05 to 12 has been included. On the occasion of unveiling the calendar, 11 Babies and 12 Kids models drew attention of everyone by walking on a ramp.

Director of Steps Growing Academy, Shivi Mahajan and Managing Director, Gaurav Mahajan, said that this the first time academy is launching calender for children of  00 to 04 age group and it’s fourth time in a row that the calender for the children from 05 to 12 years of age are being presented. They said that the specialty of these calendars is that they are designed in conceptual form. In both calendars 2-2 photos of models are included.

According to Gaurav Mahajan, photos for the calenders have been shot in villages, parks, buildings and markets for the outdoor session. At the same Indoor Photo shoot was done at the Academy. He said that models in the calendar for the age group of  00 to 04 age are Aarav Ranaut, Aarvpreet Singh, Rivaan Verma,  Vedansh Grover, Vedanshi Verma, Nitya Grover, Dhawni Mahajan, Kritisha Kashani, Shanaya Mahajan, Siddhid Manchanda and Vihan Choudhary and in the age group of 05 to 12 Manmudit Mehra, Bhakti Goyal, Charvi Arora, Kanishka Bhagat, Dhruv Bamotra, Abhay Bhagat, Adwiti Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Manvi Sharma, Yashraj Pal, Riddhima Manchanda and Daksh Bamotra are the models.

Shivi Mahajan said that Adwiti Singh, Manvi Sharma, Charvi Arora, Kanishka Bhagat and Manmudit  Mehra have been associated with their academy for the past 04 years. Almost all of these children are spreading their skills in Punjabi films and in different relity shows on National Channels .

Shivi said that the main aim of the academy is to provide a platform to the children, where they can present their skills . According to Shivi, her aim is to highlight the achievements of the 12 super models of the previous year's calendar and to encourage these children.

Bollywood Singer and Performer Akira Unveils Her New Dancing Punjabi Beat Track “Dhamak”

Chandigarh 09th Jan,2019:- After a huge success of her Song Saqiya with Mika Sing Bollywood Singer and Performer Akira is now presenting her Punjabi song “Dhamak”.  Dhamak  is a Punjabi beat song written by Jaggi Jagowal, Composed by Mr. WOW and Directed by Amrinder Goraya.

Akira has already been doing great work in the bollywood industry. She has given her voice in “Mallamal” song  in HouseFull 3 and “Ishq Karle” in Santa Banta Pvt. Ltd movie.

She has done many successful shows in India and Abroad and is known for her versatile voice. Mika Singh is himself promoting and supporting  her in her endeavours.

                                                                

While interacting with media after announcing of her new song, Akira said that her new single soon going to release on You-Tube. She said that the love and wonderful response she got from the music lover for her previous song, she hope that the same she would get for the new song too.

Akira said that she has started her singing career in a very small age and also became 1^st Runner up in Niiki Awaaz Punjab di singing reality show run by MH1. Also she has been in top  finalists of many reality shows on National TV. Her Song Saqiya has received immense love and  appreciation from the viewers as well as the Music Industry.

Akira said that she has sung a lot of songs in Punjabi and Bollywood movies. She has lent her voice for the song ‘Ishq Karle Anytime’ with singers Mika Singh and Sonu Nigam in the film ‘Santa Banta Pvt. Ltd’, which was released on 22 April 2016.

यूटी चण्डीगढ़ व एम सी के कर्मचारियों ने दो दिवसीय हड़ताल के दूसरे दिन भी मुक्मल हड़ताल कर किया विशाल रैली का आयोजन

Chandigarh 09th Jan,2019:- भारतीय ट्रेड यूनियनों के आह्वान पर अखिल भारतीय राज्य सरकारी कर्मचारी फैड़रेशन, भारतीय बिजली कर्मचारी फैडरेशन के फैसले के तहत फैड़रेशन ऑफ यूटी इम्पलाईज एण्ड वर्करज चण्डीगढ़ के आहवान पर दो दिवसीय राष्ट्रव्यापी हड़ताल के दूसरे दिन भी यूटी एमसी कर्मचारियों द्वारा मुक्कमल हड़ताल की गई। हड़ताल में विशेष तौर पर बिजली, पानी, बागवानी, सड़क, बाल कल्याणपरिषद, सिटको, वीडीओ, एमसी मनीमाजरा, कैपीटल प्रोजैक्ट, सफाई कर्मचारी आदि 18 यूनियनों से सम्बन्धित हजारों कर्मचारी शामिल हुए। कर्मचारी सुबह अपने अपने विभागों के सामने इक्कठे होकर मार्च करते हुए फैड़रेशन के आह्वान पर परेड़ ग्राऊंड सैक्टर 17 के सामने की जा रही हड़ताली कर्मचारियों की रैली में भारी संख्या में शामिल हुए। बिजली कर्मचारी 7 जनवरी की रात 12 बजे से ही हड़ताल पर हैं। बिजली विभाग के फील्ड के क्लास-4 कर्मचारियों से लेकर अतिरिक्त एसडीओ तथा क्लौरिकल में चपड़ासी से लेकर अधीक्षक तक हड़ताल पर रहे। प्रशासन द्वारा विभाग के ग्रिड सब स्टेशनों तथा शिकायत केन्द्रो पर विभाग के कार्यकारी अभियन्ताओं, सहायक अभियन्ताओं तथा इल्कैट्रिकल विभाग के सहायक अभियन्ताओं तथा जूनियर इंजिनियरों को डयूटी पर तैनात किया गया तथा कुछ ठेकेदारों के वर्करों की भी मदद ली गई परन्तु वे हड़ताल के दौरान आए फाल्ट तथा शिकायतों का निवारण नहीं कर सके।     

हड़ताल की प्रमुख मांगें -2004 के बाद भर्ती कर्मचारियों पर लागू न्यू पैन्शन स्कीम रद्द कर पुरानी पैंशन लागू करने, डेलीवेज, वर्कचार्ज कान्ट्रेक्ट, आउटसोर्स हर प्रकार के कर्मचारियों  को पक्का करने, माननीय उच्चतम न्यायालय के फैसले अनुसार बराबर काम के आधार पर बराबर वेतन देने, बिजली अमैंडमैंट बिल 2018 रद्द करने, स्थाई प्रकृति के कार्यो पर ठेकाकरण बन्द करने व नियमित भर्ती शुरू करने, कम से कम वेतन 18000/- प्रति महीना देने व सभी के लिए रू 6000/- प्रति माह पेंशन देने, श्रम कानून में मजदूर विरोध्ी संशोधन रद्द करने, मृतक कर्मियों के आश्रितों को पंजाब पैट्रन पर नौकरी देने भर्ती व प्रमोशन  के नियमों में संशोधन करने, कान्ट्रेक्ट कर्मियों को आउटसोर्स एजेंसियों की बजाय दिल्ली की तर्ज पर सीधे विभागों द्वारा रखने, यूटी इम्पलाइज सैल्फ फाइनैंसिंग हाउसिंग स्कीम के सफल उम्मीदवारों को उस समय की दरों पर ही मकान देने व ड्रा में असफल रहे कर्मियों के लिए भी स्कीम शुरू करने  सहित आदि शामिल है।

हड़ताल के दूसरे दिन सैक्टर 17 में हड़ताली कर्मचारियों की रैली को संबोधित करते हुए अखिल भारतीय राज्य सरकारी कर्मचारी महासंघ के सचिव तथा फैड़रेशन ऑफ यूटी इम्पलाईज एण्ड वर्करर्ज चण्डीगढ़ के महासचिव गोपाल दत्त जोशी ने सभी कर्मचारियों को केन्द्रीय ट्रेड यूनियनों के आह्वान पर दो दिन की हड़ताल को सफल करने के लिए बधाई दी तथा कहा कि सरकार करोड़ो कर्मचारियों की आवाज का ध्यान रख कर सभी किस्म के कच्चे कर्मचारियों को पक्का करें तथा उन पर बराबर काम बराबर वेतन का सिंद्धात लागू करे तथा पीएफ आरडीए एक्ट को खत्म कर 2004 के बाद भर्ती कर्मचारियों पर पुरानी पैंशन लागू करे। उन्होनें आरोप लगाया कि केन्द्र तथा कई राज्य सरकारे कर्मचारियों की मांगों का समाधान करने की बजाए दमन का रास्ता अपना रहें है। केन्द्र सरकार को इसका खामियाजा भुगतना पड़ेगा। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि सरकार संसद में बिजली अमेंडमैंट बिल 2018 पेश करने की कोशिश कर रही है जिसका पूरे देश के इंजिनियर तथा कर्मचारी डट कर विरोध करेगें। उन्होने आगे कहा कि सरकार पूंजीपतियों के हक में श्रम कानून में बदलाव करना बंद करें। 

फैडरेशन ऑफ यूटी इम्पलाईज एंड वर्कर्स चण्डीगढ़ के प्रधान रघवीर चन्द ने कहा कि जहां केन्द्र सरकार कर्मचारियों के संयुक्त मुदद्ो पर चर्चा से भाग रही है वहीं चण्डीगढ़ प्रशासन भी बार बार संघर्ष करने के बावजूद कर्मचारियों की मांगों की अनदेखी कर रहा है जिस कारण विभागों में हजारों की संख्या में खाली पोस्टें भरने, 5 प्रतिशत सीलिंग खत्म कर पंजाब के आधार पर नौकरी देने, कैशलैस मैडीकल स्कीम लागू करने, विभागों में भर्ती के नियमों में संशोधन करने, 2010 के ड्रा में सफल रहे कर्मचारियों को मकान देने, कान्ट्रैक्ट कर्मचारियों को आऊटसोर्स एजेसिंयों की बजाए विभाग द्वारा सीधी भर्ती करने समेत अन्य मांगें लंबित पड़ी है।हड़ताली कर्मचारियों की रैली  को फैडरेशन के वरिष्ठ उप प्रधान राजेन्द्र कटोच, विजय सिंह, भीमसेन, ध्यान सिंह, रेखा शर्मा संयुक्त सचिव अमरीक सिंह, हरकेश चन्द, नसीब सिंह, बिहारी लाल के अलावा सतपाल, राजपाल (बिजली), हरपाल सिंह चैन सिंह (पानी), विशराम, राजेन्द्र (यूटीरोड), एम सुब्रहमण्यम, रामबख्श (एमसी होल्टीकल्चर), वजिन्द्र कुमार (यूटीबागबानी), पी. कामराज (एमसी रोड़), सुनीता शर्मा (बाल कल्याण परिषद्), सरवण सिंह (एम मीटर सैक्शन), प्रेमपाल (बीडीओ) आदि कर्मचारी नेताओं ने सम्बोंधित करते हुए  सभी कर्मचारियों को दो दिन की सफल हड़ताल करने के लिए बधाई दी। 

हड़ताली कर्मचारियों की रैली में विशेष प्रस्ताव पास कर अखिल भारतीय राज्य सरकारी कर्मचारी महासंघ के आह्वान पर 2004 के बाद भर्ती कर्मचारियों पर नैशनल पैंन्शन सिस्टम रद्द कर पुरानी पैंशन बहाल करने सभी प्रकार के कच्चे कर्मचारियों को पक्के करने तथा स्थाई काम पर नियमित भर्ती करने आदि मांगों को लागू कराने के लिए 21 फरवरी 2019 को किये जा रहे संसद के घेराव में यूटी के कर्मचारी भारी संख्या में हिस्सा लेगें।

Riders of the Storm Set to organize Grand Finale of the Mountain Biking

Chandigarh 08^th Jan,2019:- At least 60 teams have registered for the grand finale of the EVA-ROS, an exciting event in mountain biking on January 13. Organized by the Riders of the Storm, the approximately 35-kilometre race will be held in the foothills of the Shivalik hills, adjoining Chandigarh.

The event of riding on specially designed bikes, mostly over rough roads and mountain trails, offers prize money worth Rs 2.2 lakhs in four different categories for Junior Men (Under 18 years), Elite Men (18-39 years), Masters Men (more than 40 years) and Women( all age groups).

The exciting event for mountain biking lovers will feature teams from Bir Billing, Shimla, New Delhi, Manali and Dehradun, besides few other places. Few top teams included Team Hero, Team Cannondale and Team Btwin. 

The Circuit for the race is a 5.5 Kms loop. The race will offer short power climbs, downhill thrills, river bed, jeep track, Single Track Trail, Mountain Climbs, Mountain Descents, Jeep Off Road Tracks, Tarmac and River Bed.  Riders will be crossing fields, rocky terrain and rocky gorges during their exciting ride.

Founded in 2016, the Riders of the Storm (ROS), has more than 150 members in the tricity. The group has members as young as 13 years and as old as 55 years. The rides are largely organized during the weekends. 

The grand finale, this year, is dedicated to the memory of the founder of the group, Amit Chopra. Suffering from cancer, he died towards the end of December 2016. Certain team members reorganized in early 2018 and started the work where it had been left unfinished after the death of Amit.

The Riders of the Storm has also tied up with Ex Vivekiete Association (EVA) for the event and they have started promoting Mountain Biking as a Sport amongst the students, alumni and faculty members. The association planned to reach out to other schools and expand their base in promoting the event, especially when Chandigarh is the one of the best places to take up mountain biking considering its locations in the foothills.

The Chief Guest for the occasion is the first triathlon ironman from the Indian army, Major General Vikram  Dogra. The event in Austria comprised of three consecutive events of 3.8 kms swim, 180 kms cycling and 42.2 kms marathon, all of which he completed in a day without a break.

Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation organizes Blood Donation Camp: 281 Nirankari Devotees Voluntarily Donated Blood

Chandigarh 07th Jan,2019:- With the blessings of Satguru Mata Sudiksha ji Maharaj today, a huge blood donation camp, of Sector 40 Area, was organized by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation in Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan Sector 15. In this camp, 281 devotees including 70 women, donated blood. 

This Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by Dr. G. Dewan, Director, Health and Family Welfare Department, Chandigarh Administration, through his tax dedication. During the inauguration, he addressed the blood donors and said that donating blood is a very noble task. By doing this, unity in society and country is established. He congratulated the mission for this sacred task and thanked everyone on behalf of the administration.

On this occasion,  C.L. Gulati, Secretary Sant Nirankari Mandal and Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, Delhi, said that the blood donation camps were started by Nirankari Mission in 1986 by Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, who donated blood Himself. Baba ji, giving a message to humanity, said that "blood should not be flown into drains." Today Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj is forwarding the same message. Since 1986 volunteers have donated more than 10 million blood units in a total of 6000 camps. He said that the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation has continued to contribute to cleanliness drive of railway stations, tree plantation campaigns, free sewing embroidery centres, charitable dispensaries, and service during natural calamities, in addition to blood donation.

On this occasion, C. S. Toor (Col. Retired), the Coordinator, Branch Administration of Sant Nirankari Mandal was also present. 

K.K Kashyap, Zonal Incharge of Chandigarh Zone said that this is the 16th Blood Donation Camp of Chandigarh Zone this year 2018-2019. He added that a total of 5052 units of blood have been donated in 15 camps so far. K K Kashyap further said that the Sant Nirankari Mission is a spiritual mission which informs the soul of the human being about divine knowledge and continues to contribute in social and welfare activities.

This Blood Donation Camp was conducted by the Government Medical College Sector-32, Dr. Ravneet Kaur Medical Office Incharge and Civil Hospital Phase- 6 Mohali Dr. Gaurav Pawar with a team of 10 members each. 

On this occasion, Navneet Pathak,  Sanyojak, S S Banga Mukhi Sector 15 and Pawan Kumar, Mukhi of Sector 40 Area, thanked Dr. G Dewan, C LGulati, C. S. Toor and K.K. Kashyap, blood donors and other dignitaries who came here.

In this camp all the sections of the Chandigarh and the adjoining associates enthusiastically participated.

दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने हरियाणा पेंशन बहाली संघर्ष समीति को दिया समर्थन

Chandigarh 07th Jan,2019:- दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री एवं आम आदमी पार्टी सुप्रीमों अरविंद केजरीवाल ने ऐलान किया है कि हरियाणा में आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार के सत्ता में आते ही पंद्रह दिनों के भीतर कर्मचारियों के लिए पुरानी पेंशन योजना को लागू कर दिया जाएगा। केजरीवाल सोमवार को पंचकूला के शालिमार ग्रांउड में हरियाणा पेंशन बहाली संघर्ष समीति द्वारा किए जा रहे आंदोलन को समर्थन देने पहुंचे थे। केजरीवाल ने पेंशन बहाली की मांग कर रहे कर्मचारी नेताओं से विचार विमर्श करके उनके आंदोलन को सही करार देते हुए कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी के उनके संघर्ष में पूरी तरह से उनके साथ है।

इस अवसर पर कर्मचारियों से रूबरू होते हुए अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हरियाणा में पिछले चार वर्ष से जब से खट्टर सरकार ने सत्ता संभाली है तब से कर्मचारी अपने दफ्तरों में कम और सडक़ों पर अधिक रहे हैं। केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हरियाणा में कभी गैस्ट टीचरों के धरने तो कभी रोडवेज की हड़ताल और आशा वर्करों के आंदोलन अखबारों की सुर्खियां बने हैं। कर्मचारियों की अपनी जायज मांगे पूरी करवाने और अपने अधिकार हासिल करने के लिए धरने-प्रदर्शनों का सहारा लेना पड़ रहा है।

अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हरियाणा समेत पूरे देश का राजनीतिक इतिहास इस बात का गवाह है कि जिस भी सरकार ने कर्मचारियों को परेशान किया है और उनके मांगों को पूरा नहीं किया वह कभी सत्ता में नहीं आई। जिस सरकार में कर्मचारी दुखी होंगे वह सरकार कभी नहीं चल सकती। केजरीवाल ने हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर को कर्मचारी विरोधी मुख्यमंत्री करार देते हुए कर्मचारियों से आहवान किया कि वह पूरी एकजुटता के साथ आम आदमी पार्टी का समर्थन करें।

आप सुप्रीमों ने कहा कि हरियाणा में जिस दिन आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार सत्ता में आएगी तो पंद्रह दिनों के भीतर कर्मचारियों के लिए पुरानी पेंशन योजना को लागू कर दिया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार ने दिल्ली में भी कर्मचारियों की पेंशन योजना को लागू किया है। जिसे केंद्र सरकार ने अटका रखा है।

इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए आम आदमी पार्टी के प्रदेशाध्यक्ष नवीन जयहिंद ने कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी ने पिछले चार साल के दौरान विपक्ष की भूमिका निभाते हुए कर्मचारियों की हर मांग का समर्थन करते हुए सरकार के विरूद्ध किए गए संघर्ष में उनका साथ दिया है। नवीन जयहिंद ने कहा कि कर्मचारियों द्वारा किए जाने वाले हर संघर्ष में आम आदमी पार्टी के तमाम कार्यकर्ता बढ़चढ़ कर साथ देंगे।

दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने केंद्र व राज्य की भाजपा सरकार को कर्मचारी विरोधी करार देते हुए कहा कि भाजपा ने दिल्ली में आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार की राह में रोडे अटकाने के अलावा दूसरा कोई काम नहीं किया। उन्होंने कहा आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार ने अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान कर्मचारियों के हित में कई फैसले लिए हैं, लेकिन भाजपा ने उन्हें अटकाने का काम किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली में कर्मचारियों का न्यूनतम वेतन बढ़ाने का मामला सुप्रीम कोर्ट में विचाराधीन है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा बहुत जल्द कर्मचारियों के हित में फैसला दिए जाने की उम्मीद है। यह फैसला आते ही कर्मचारियों का न्यूनतम वेतन बढ़ा दिया जाएगा।

दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने दिल्ली के स्कूलों व अस्पतालों के कायाकल्प का श्रेय अध्यापकों, चिकित्सकों व कर्मचारियों को देते हुए कहा कि दिल्ली में जो लोग कांग्रेस की सरकार में काम करते थे वही आज कर रहे हैं। लेकिन पूर्व की सरकार ने कर्मचारियों के हित में फैसले लेने की बजाए उन्हें परेशान करने का काम किया है। दिल्ली के स्कूलों व अस्पतालों की चर्चा आज पूरे देश में हो रही है। जिसका पूरा वहां के कर्मचारियों, अध्यापकों व चिकित्सकों को जाता है। सरकार ने केवल उनकी जायज मांगों को पूरा करते हुए उन्हें बेहतर सुविधाएं प्रदान करने का काम किया है।

Amway India Launches the ‘Power of 5’ Campaign to Address Childhood Malnutrition

Chandigarh 05th Jan,2019:- Amway India, the country’s largest FMCG direct selling company, today launched the ‘POWER OF 5’ campaign to address the rising problem of malnutrition among children in India. In line with Amway’s vision of helping people live better lives, the Power of 5 is a community-based campaign targeted at mothers and caregivers of children under the age of 5 years. The campaign aims to improve the nutritional knowledge and practices inclusive of complementary feeding, hygiene practices, growth monitoring and dietary diversity. The campaign further aims to identify and manage the malnourished children, and those with infections, by developing synergies among the service providers of associated departments (Integrated Child Development Scheme, Health and Sanitation) for improved services and timely referrals.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), roughly 7 million children under the age of 5 die each year from preventable causes across the globe. Malnutrition is the underlying cause of 45% of these deaths according to the WHO. In India, malnutrition among children is a major concern too, belying nation’s increasing economic achievement. According to a recent report by the World Bank, approximately 8 million Indian children suffer from Severe Acute Malnutrition (very low weight to height ratio). According to the National Health Family Survey, 36% children in India below the age of 5 years are under-weight. The report further states that 38% are stunted, 21% are wasted, 7.5% are severely wasted, and 58% are anemic.

Speaking about the launch of this program, Anshu Budhraja, CEO, Amway India, said that at Amway India, we are committed to use our vast global experience in nutrition and wellness to contribute to the Government of India’s National Nutrition Mission to raise the nutrition levels in the country. Additionally, ASHA workers, ANM &Anganwadi workers will be sensitized to drive the behavior change among the parents and communities to establish synergies for timely inclusive service deliveries to the identified target beneficiaries. With MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child as its implementing partner, Amway will reach out to and benefit around 10,000 children directly through mothers and 30,000 individuals indirectly (parents, caregivers and community members) in West Delhi’s Kirari area in the first pilot year.

U.T. Employees Completes All Preparation of 8th and 9th January 2019 Strike

Chandigarh 05th Jan,2019:- On the call given by the All Central Trade Union including All India State Government Employees Federation, The Federation of U.T. Employees & Workers Chandigarh today held gate meetings  and rally before the Electricity Office, Sector 10, 18 and U.T. and MC Horticulture Booth Sector-23, 16 & 10, U.T. and M.C. Road Booths, Sector 46, 42 and 25, U.T. M.C. and Public Health Booth, Sector 37, 39, 15 & 12 & ICCW Employee Rally in Sector 23, Chandigarh and completed all preparations of 8th and 9th January 2019 strike.

The gate meetings and rally held before all the offices were addressed by Gopal Dutt Joshi, Gen. Secretary , Raghubir Chand President,   Rajinder Katoch, Harpal Singh (Water Supply), Dhian Singh and Amrik Singh, Pardeep Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, Pan Singh, Rajpal  (Electricity), Rekha Sharma, Bihari Lal (ICCW), Bhim Sain, Harkesh Chand and M. Subhramaniyam (MC Horticulture), Vishram, Parshadi Lal and P. Kamraj (U.T. and M.C. Road), Nasib Singh, Sarwan Singh, Ram Pal  (M.C.), Arun Bhagat (M.C.) besides others

The leaders of the Federation of U.T. Employees & Workers Chandigarh while addressing the gathering  elaborated the issues of 2 days strike scheduled for 8th and 9th January 2019 amongst them scrapping of New Pension Scheme to the employee appointed after January 2004 and demanded restoration of old pension system to them, regularization of all the daily wages, work charge, contract and outsource workers, implementation of equal work equal pay pending regularization filling up of all the vacant posts lying vacant in all the departments on regular basis curbing rising process of essential commodities, creation of new decent jobs, minimum wages Rs. 18000/- per month and minimum Rs. 6000/- per month pension to all, stoppage of all moves to sell PSU shares and outright privatization through various routes like outsourcing, PPP etc. universal Social Security coverage to all among other demands

The leaders further blamed that on one side the Government of India is adamant towards the common demands of Central and State Government Employees on the other the U.T. Administration Chandigarh is adopting same pass due to this the demands i.e. filling up vacant post on regular basis, amendment in drafts rules, offer of appointment to the next kin of decease employee by scrapping 5% sealing on Punjab Pattern, cashless medical and allotment of houses to the unsuccessful candidates remain unresolved and appeal the employees to observe 2 days strike on 8th and 9th January 2019 and further appeal the employees to participate striking employee rally being held near ground Shivalik Hotel, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
