Chandigarh 08^th May:- ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ  ਦੇ ਨਾਲ -ਨਾਲ ਸਰਵ ਸਾਂਝੀਵਾਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਸੰਦੇਸ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਸਮੁੱਚੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਆਫਤਾਂ ਮੌਕੇ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ, ਸਿਹਤ, ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੋਕਥਾਮ, ਦੀਨ ਦੁੱਖੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਾਵਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ।  ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਰੋਏ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ-ਕਮ-ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਮੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਚਰਨਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਵੱਲੌਂ ਪੈਰਾਗਾਨ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਂਕੰਡਰੀ  ਸਕੂਲ ਦੇ ਆਡੀਟੋਰੀਅਮ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ। 

ਚਰਨਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੈਗੰਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਮਾਨਵਤਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋ ਭਾਈ ਘੱਨ੍ਹਈਆ ਜੀ ਇੱਕ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਾਏ ਮਾਰਗਾਂ ਤੇ ਚਲਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ । ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਪੱਧਰ ਉੱਚਾ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸ਼ਾਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ  ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਭਲਾਈ ਸ਼ਾਖਾ ਵੀ ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਵਲ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਮਰੀਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।  ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ  ਕਿ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ  ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੈਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਭਵਨ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਰੈਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ 'ਚ ਖੂਨਦਾਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਤਰਦਾਨ ਜਾਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਅੰਗਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਰੂਰਤ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ  ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੈਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ  ਸਕੂਲੀ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ, ਪੇਂਟਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਖ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੇਤੂ ਰਹੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਾਮ ਵੀ ਵੰਡੇ।

ਇਸ  ਮੌਕੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੈਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਦੇ ਅਵੇਤਨੀ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਜਸਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੈਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰਪੂਰਵਕ  ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ  ਦਿੱਤੀ।  ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੈਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਰਾਜਮਲ ਨੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਨੀ ਸਰ ਹੈਨਰੀ ਡਿਓਨਾ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਵਸ ਨੂੰ  ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਵੱਜੋ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਜਿਥੇ  ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਥੇ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਫਸਟ ਏਡ ਐਂਡ ਹੋਮ ਨਰਸਿੰਗ ਟਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਜਨ ਔਸਧੀ ਸਟੋਰ ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿ ਸਸਤੀਆਂ ਜੈਨਰਿਕ ਦਵਾਇਆ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆ ਹਨ ਵੀ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਕੂਲੀ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵੱਲੋੀ ਬਾਲ ਮਜਦੂਰੀ ਤੇ ਨਾਟਕ ਰਾਜੂ ਦਾ ਢਾਬਾ, ਗਿੱਧੇ ਸਮੇਤ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। 

World Red Cross Day: Indian Red Cross Society organizes Blood Donation Camp

Chandigarh 08^th May:- The Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch, Chandigarh has organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on the occasion of World Red Cross Day 8^th May, 2017 in the premises of Karuna Sadan Building, Sector 11B, Chandigarh. The Blood Donation Camp was organized under the supervision of Sushil Kumar Taank, Training Supervisor, IRCS and the team of Doctors, Para medical team from Department of Transfusion Medicine, Blood Bank, PGI, Chandigarh.

About 100 Volunteers were present in World Red Cross Day Celebration and 33 units of blood collected during the camp. The Blood Donors are honored by giving certificates for donating blood by Blood Transfusion Department, PGI, Chandigarh for a noble cause.

Sushil Kumar Taank, Training Supervisor, Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch, Chandigarh has donated blood for the 59^th time in this camp. The camp was a great success. All the Red Cross Employees have motivated the Blood Donors to come forward and donate blood. The Blood Donation Camp received an enthusiastic response, as a large number of employees/volunteers came forward and donate blood.

Food Safety and Standards Department organizes Food Safety Awareness Campaign

Chandigarh 08^th May:- The Food Safety and Standards Department, Chandigarh Administration along with Department of Public Health, PGI organized a Food Safety Awareness Campaign in Sector-40, Chandigarh.

Sukhwinder Singh, Designated Officer, Chandigarh Administration delivered a lecture on Food Safety and made aware the general public about various diseases caused due to consumption of adulterated food. He informed the public that it’s a joint responsibility to curb menace of food adulteration. Sukhwinder Singh also made aware the residents about the difference of genuine and adulterated food articles through power point presentation. Residents were made aware about the various provisions of food laws.

Dr. Amarjeet singh Professor, PGI also parted education about diet the resident have to follow in their routine life. A Mobile Food Testing lab was also stationed by the department for on the spot food testing of food articles. Also samples of various food articles adulterated and genuine were shown to residents to make them aware the purity of the products. 25 number of various food articles brought by the resident were tested on the spot. Large number of resident attended the campaign.

Zee Classiic Presents ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ on 13th May

Chandigarh 08^th May:- Animals show us what's missing in our lives, and how to love completely and unconditionally. With a premise that builds on this overwhelming bond between an elephant and a man, Zee Classic, with its brand promise of Who Zamaana, Kare Deewana will air the all-time hit film Haathi Mere Saathi on Saturday, 13th May at 7 PM.

Directed by M.A. Thirumugham the film stars the dashing Rajesh Khanna and beautiful Tanuja in the lead. The film went on to become the biggest commercial hit of 1971 and was one of the 17 consecutive hits given by Rajesh Khanna. It was also the first collaboration of writer duo Salim-Javed, who later gave numerous hits to Indian cinema.

The film features orphaned Raju (Rajesh Khanna) who is a street performer along with four elephants who had rescued him from a leopard during his childhood. His life revolves round his four-legged friends, Ramu (elephant) being the closest to him. When he makes it big, he builds a private zoo for them and other animals that he treats as his friends. He meets Tanu(Tanuja) and, they fall in love and go on to start a family. Tanu is unhappy with the amount of time Raju spends with his animal friends and this causes some bitterness between them. Trouble arises in the paradise when Raju is asked to choose between his family and the elephants.  Who will Raju Choose?

बाबा जी टेलीफिल्म बनाएगा लव स्टोरी पर आधारित फिल्म भटिंडा टू चंडीगढ़

Chandigarh 06^th May:- बाबा जी टेलीफिल्म के बैनर तले बन रही “भटिंडा टू चंडीगढ़” अनोखी लव स्टोरी है, जोकि कॉमेडी, इमोशन और एक्शन से भरपूर है। जिसमे फिल्म के लेखक और निर्देशक अशोक कुमार कपूर ने बताया कि फिल्म में एक ऐसे शख्श को दिखाया गया है, संगीत, एक्टिंग एवं डांस का जनून है और यह जनून उसकी पूजा है। साथ ही वो शख्श कभी अपने काम और सभ्याचार को नहीं भूलता। इसको पंजाबी होने पर मान है। इस फिल्म की हीरोइन हिमाचल से है और लडक़ा भटिंडा से है। दोनों का मिलन/प्यार चंडीगढ़ में होता है और परवान शिमला में होता है। इस फिल्म का हीरो जिस प्रण के साथ भटिंडा छोड़ता है, उसी प्रण को पूरा करने के लिये चंडीगढ़ आता है और उसे पूरा करने के बाद भटिंडा लौट जाता है। 

अशोक कपूर ने कहा कि हमारी यही कोशिश रहेगी कि इस फिल्म में नये कलाकारों को काम मिले। यह एक तरह की परिवारिक फिल्म है घर के सभी सदस्य इकट्ठे बैठकर इसे देख सकते हैं। यह एक हट के कहानी है, उम्मीद रहेगी कि हम इस फिल्म के जरिये पंजाबी फिल्म इंडस्ट्री को नया कामयाब हीरो, हीरोइन और बाकी के कलाकार दे सकें। इस मौके पर ऑस्कर इंस्टीच्यूट के प्रबंधक वी के सूद भी उपस्थित थे। 

Thalassaemic Children Welfare Association organizes 163rd Blood Donation Camp

Chandigarh 06^th May:- The First Blood Donation Camp during this summer which is 163^rd camp of the Thalassaemic Children Welfare Association was organized today at Zakir Hall of the PGI. In this camp 376 units of blood was collected for the PGI, Chandigarh. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Subhash Verma, Dean PGI in the presence of Dr. Khandelwal, HOD, Radiology; Dr. Reena Das,  Haematology; Dr. Amita Trehan, Paediatrics; Dr. Deepak Bansal,Paediatrics ; Dr. Sandhya Ghai, Principal, Nursing College; Dr. Sushma Saini, Vice-Principal, Nursing College; Dr. Richa Jain,  Paediatrics; Dr. A.K. Bhalla,  Paediatrics; to boost the morale of blood donors. 

Thalassaemic Children Welfare Association (Regd.), PGI, Chandigarh organizes several voluntarily Blood Donation Camps every year to collect 8000-9000 units of blood for its 430 thalassaemic children, for whom blood is “life line” for their survival. They need blood transfusion after every 2-3 weeks for whole of their lives for maintaining blood hemoglobin level around 10mg.

Out of these camps, six camps are organized at PGI, Chandigarh and one camp at GMCH-32 during summer months, when there is acute shortage of blood in the blood bank due to several reasons. The Association organizes these camps, so that our thalassaemics are not deprived of the regular blood supply for transfusion.

Know Your Case Scheme: 103 Persons Visited Police Stations to Know Status of Cases and Complaints

Chandigarh 06^th May:- In continuation of Know Your Case Scheme of Chandigarh police, today, all SHOs as well as, I/Os, and In-charge of other units i.e. CIA, Cyber Crime cell, CAW, Operation Cell staff and Traffic Inspectors were present in their respective police stations/units and Traffic Lines, Sector-29, Chandigarh to attend the complainants. Total 103 persons visited the police stations and units to know the status of their cases and complaints. 

This Unique Scheme was launched by Chandigarh Police in 2013 under the title “Know your case” to bring greater transparency and accountability in police functioning. Under this scheme, citizen visits the concerned Police Stations/units and Traffic Lines Sector-29, Chandigarh to check the status of their cases and complaints.

Gian Jyoti Global School Celebrates Malaria Prevention Week

Chandigarh 06^th May:- Science Club of Gian Jyoti Global School celebrated Malaria Prevention Week at its premises in Phase -2, Mohali to create awareness among the students about the causes, symptoms, effects and preventions of Malaria. Pavit and Gurleen students of 10^th class gave a knowledgeable lecture through a presentation to all students about Malaria Preventions.

In the presentation, students were told to avoid sleeping outside or in the vicinity of areas where mosquitoes like to live, e.g. standing water (lakes, waste dumps). Use an insect spray containing pyrethroids in all living and sleeping areas, especially during evening and nighttime hours. Wear long sleeve shirts and trousers in the evening and at night.

Prevention of malaria involves protecting yourself against mosquito bites and taking anti malarial medicines. But public health officials strongly recommend that young children and pregnant women avoid traveling to areas where malaria is common.

Ranjeet Bedi, Principal, Gian Jyoti Global School while speaking on the occasion said that it is very important to know that malaria is a preventable disease and we should take this responsibility to make aware each and every one regarding this disease.

Ranjeet Bedi further said that it is our youth only who will come forward to spread the awareness to the masses, so that we can eradicate Malaria from our country.
