Infosys Appoints Karmesh Vaswani as Global Head of Retail, CPG & Logistics

Infosys Appoints Inderpreet Sawhney as Group General Counsel

Chandigarh 16^th June:- Infosys (NYSE: INFY), a global leader in consulting, technology, outsourcing and next-generation services, today announced the appointment of Inderpreet Sawhney as Group General Counsel, effective July 3, 2017.

Inderpreet joins Infosys from Wipro where she was the General Counsel. Prior to that, she served as Managing Partner of a midsized law firm in Silicon Valley and has also worked with ITC Limited as in-house counsel. She has a BA (Hons.) and LL.B degree from Delhi University and an LL.M from Queen's University, Kingston, Canada.

Infosys also announced that Gopi Krishnan Radhakrishnan, who was the acting General Counsel of Infosys, will be leaving the company later this month to pursue other opportunities.

Speaking on the appointment, Dr. Vishal Sikka, Chief Executive Officer, Infosys said that he is delighted to welcome Inderpreet Sawhney to Infosys.  Inderpreet has a strong and diverse, global experience over a career spanning 24+ years, and her expertise will be integral to the transformation journey we are on. Tressed Up Salon & Academy Unveiles Free Beauty Summer Workshop

Chandigarh 16^th June:- Tressed Up Salon & Academy in NAC Manimajra, is all set to organise a hair, skin & beauty camp this summer. The camp will be conducted by expert trainers of the Salon cum Academy & will be free of cost.

Mehboob Khan, Director, Tressed Up Salon Cum Academy, said that we will not be charging any fee from participants as the idea is to engage tricity’s beauty enthusiasts -women, men & even young adults in learning a skill which will be helpful in their future career. It is an initiative as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Bigger Pack Warnings Helped the Cause of Tobacco Consumption Reduction: Survey

Chandigarh 16^th June:- Indian Government’s efforts to curb consumption of tobacco has brought out a huge reduction in tobacco consumption as per the recent Global Adult Tobacco Consumption ( GATS ) report released for the year 2016 - 17. It shows a remarkable reduction of tobacco consumption from 34.6per cent in 2009-10 to 28.6 percent in 2016-17.The number of tobacco users has reduced by about 81 lakh. GATS is a global standard for monitoring adult tobacco usage ( smoking and smokeless ) and this GATS report indicates that creating awareness on harmful effects of consuming tobacco has helped the cause of tobacco consumption reduction.

Union Health Ministry, which conducts this survey with the help of WHO and CDPC applauded the achievement as “appropriate and timely” which will save lives of millions. Union Health Minister J.P.Nadda said that the results are extremely encouraging and we should go forward in the direction of tobacco control.  Some of the initiatives which resulted in the reduction include the 85% pack warnings and implementation of COTPA strictly.

The study shows the prevalence of other smokeless forms of tobacco like gutka, bidis and khaini as the major culprit with both men and women. They survey shows that 19% of the Men, 2% of the women and 10.7% of all adults currently smoke tobacco ,while 26.9%of men ,12.8% of women and 21.4% of all adults use smokeless forms.GATS 2016-17 survey indicates that various measures including bigger pictorial warnings ,High rate of taxation and increased level of awareness are contributing towards reduction in tobacco usage.

Smoking is largely a problem among men. However use of smokeless tobacco is wide spread among both men and women.  Ashim Sanyal ,Chief Operating Officer , Consumer Voice, said that strong long term government commitments are reflected in this report results and this reduction in tobacco consumption will go a long way in saving many lives.  

According to Surinder Verma, Citizen Awareness Group, Haryana   survey results are encouraging and we can hope  that with joint efforts of government, civil society organizations and other stakeholders, tobacco menace will be controlled in the future.

Chandigarh 16^th June:- कबीर जयंती महोत्सव मनाने हेतु सद्गुरू कबीर महासभा चंडीगढ़ व धानक महासभा चंडीगढ़ की भिन्न भिन्न इकाइयों के अतिरिक्त चंडीगढ़ में कई अन्य जगहों पर कई प्रकार के कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया गया। 18 जून को कबीर जयंती महोत्सव का सम्पन्नता समारोह गुरुद्वारा श्री रविदास सै. 30 में धूमधाम से मनाया जाएगा।

सद्गुरू कबीर महासभा चंडीगढ़ व धानक महासभा चंडीगढ़ के महासचिव मदन सिंह गतौली ने जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि कबीर जयंती महोत्सव के उपलक्ष्य में 8 जून से लेकर चंडीगढ़ में रोजाना विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जा रहा है जैसे  विशाल शोभा यात्रा, विशाल संत समागम, संगोष्ठी, छबीलें व लंगर आदि का आयोजन किया गया था । उन्होंने बताया कि कबीर जयंती समागम के दौरान किरण खैर सांसद बतौर मुख्य अतिथि एवं अमरजीत सिंह ओएसडी मुख्यमंत्री हरियाणा बतौर विशिष्ट अतिथि उपस्थित थे ।

ਚਾਈਲਡ ਵੈਲਫੇਅਰ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਡਾ: ਬੀ.ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਵਾਲੀਆ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਸਥਿਤ ਬਾਲ ਭਵਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰਪੂਰਵਕ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰੇਕ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਲ ਭਵਨ ਹੋਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ,  ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਿ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ  ਦਾ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ।  ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਸਥਿਤ ਬਾਲ ਭਵਨ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ  ਚਾਇਲਡ ਵੈਲਫੇਅਰ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਡਾ: ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਬਾਲ ਭਲਾਈ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ 15 ਰੋਜਾ ਸਮਰ ਕੈਂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ 5 ਤੋਂ 16 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ  23 ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਬਾਲ ਭਵਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਸਮਰ ਕੈਂਪ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਬਾਲ ਭਵਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਕਰੈਚ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉੱਥੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਵੀ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਡੋ ਕਰਾਟੇ ਸਿਖਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਰ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਚਲਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਰਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

Chandigarh 16^th June:- ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਣ ਪੀਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਾਵਟ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਸਿਹਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸੇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਵਿੰਢੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਫੂਡ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਰਣ ਰੂਜਮ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਸਪਰਾ ਦੇ ਆਦੇਸਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ (ਫੂਡ) ਮਨੋਜ ਖੌਸਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਿਲ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਫੂਡ ਸੇਫਟੀ ਟੀਮ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਚਨਚੇਤੀ ਚੈਕਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡੇਅਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ  ਦੁੱਧ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੁੱਧ ਦੇ 10 ਨਮੂਨੇ ਭਰੇ ਗਏ।  ਇਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ (ਫੂਡ) ਮਨੋਜ ਖੌਸਲਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਸੈਂਪਲ ਬਨੂੜ ਵਿਖੇ 3 ਡੇਅਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ, ਲਾਂਡਰਾਂ ਰੋਡ ਤੇ ਨਾਕਾ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਦੋ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਡੇਅਰੀ, ਭਾਗੋਮਾਜਰਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੁੱਧ ਪਲਾਂਟ ਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਹਪੁਰ, ਘਟੋਰ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ -ਇੱਕ ਡੇਅਰੀ ਫਾਰਮ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਭਰੇ ਗਏ। 

ਮਨੋਜ ਖੌਸਲਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਲਾਂਡਰਾਂ ਰੋਡ ਸਨੇਟਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਲਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ 25 ਕਿਲੋਂ ਖਰਾਬ ਰੱਸਗੁੱਲੇ ਨਸਟ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜੂਨ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ 25 ਹੋਰ ਸੈਂਪਲ ਵੀ ਭਰੇ ਗਏ ਜ਼ਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ  ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਕਟਰ 70 ਦੀ ਮਾਰਕੀਟ ਵਿਖੇ ਰੈਸਟੋਰੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਤੰਦੁਰੀ ਡਰੇਸਿੰਗ, ਜੂਸ, ਦਹੀ, ਪਨੀਰ, ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ  ਹਨ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਹੀ ਨਾਮੀ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਦੇ ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟਲ ਸਟੋਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਂਡੇ, ਮੂੰਗ ਦਾਲ, ਨਮਕੀਨ, ਸਰੋਂ ਦਾ ਤੇਲ, ਨਮਕ,  ਮੱਠੀਆਂ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਸੈਂਪਲ ਵੀ ਲਏ  ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਫੇਜ਼ -9 ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੋਟਲ  ਤੋਂ ਦਹੀ, ਫੇਜ਼- 2 ਵਿਖੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਟਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਟਰ ਚਿਕਨ,ਸੈਕਟਰ 62 ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਇੱਕ  ਵੱਡੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੀ ਕੰਟੀਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ,  ਪਨੀਰ, ਚੀਜ ਟਮਾਟੋ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਰਥ ਕੰਟਰੀ ਮਾਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਫੂਡ ਕੋਰਟ  ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਨੀਰ, ਚਟਨੀ, ਕੁਲਫੀਆਂ, ਦਹੀ, ਬਰਗਰ, ਫੇਸ 3 ਬੀ 2 ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਰੈਸਟੋਰੈਂਟ ਤੋਂ ਹਰਬਲ ਮਿਕਸ ਅਤੇ  ਰਿਫਾਇੰਡ ਤੇਲ, ਫੇਸ 7 ਵਿਖੇ ਇੱਕ ਢਾਂਬੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਨੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਦਹੀ, ਅਤੇ ਸਨੇਟਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਇੱਕ ਹਲਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਡੇਅਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਦਹੀ ਦੇ ਸੈਂਪਲ ਭਰੇ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਰੇ ਗਏ ਸੈਂਪਲ ਨਿਰੀਖਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਸਾਲਾ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਨਿਰੀਖਣ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਸਰਵੇਲੰਸ ਅਧੀਨ ਭਰੇ ਗਏ ਸੈਂਪਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਫੂਡ ਸੇਫਟੀ ਐਂਡ ਸਟੈਂਡਰਡ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ ਆਫ ਇੰਡੀਆ,  ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਪਲਾਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਜੇਕਰ  ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕਿਸਮ  ਦੀ ਮਿਲਾਵਟ ਪਾਈ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਅਗਲੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
