12th September:- The handsome and talented Mayank Gandhi, who
portrays the role of a mentally challenged character- Nandu in Zee TV’s
poignant social drama Kaala Teeka is an impressive actor, but above all, he is
a committed, thorough professional who believes that the show must go on, no
matter what. The actor who has returned to the show within barely a day
or two of his marriage, postponing his honeymoon plans, has injured himself
badly and even broken his finger while shooting an action sequence for the
show. After taking medication, Mayank continued to shoot and did not take a day
off. The cast and crew of the show were thoroughly impressed by the
actor’s dedication and professionalism.
About the accident, Mayank Gandhi said that it was a very intense scene where he had to break the window of the car. He doesn’t know when the madness of Nandu took over and he got carried away. He added that he realized he had crashed his fist into the window with full vengeance only when he saw his hand bleeding. The crew members immediately sprang to their feet and rushed in to help. He consulted the doctor, got his first-aid, had his medicines and decided to finish the sequence with the help of the production house. You have to prioritize work above your comfort if the situation calls for it. The scene was important and the set up was already done. Such accidents keep happening, because of which one shouldn’t stop working. All is well now.
