Administrator Holds First Meeting of Administrator’s Advisory Council

Chandigarh 07^th November:- The first meeting of Administrator’s Advisory Council was held under the chairmanship of V.P Singh Badnore, the Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh today at Hotel Mount View.

The meeting was attended by the members of the advisory council including Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, Pawan Kumar Bansal, ex Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, Satya Pal Jain, and Additional Solicitor General of India. Present among the galaxy of officers were MP Singh, Secretary to Governor of Punjab, Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, Chandigarh, Sarvjit Singh, Finance Secretary, Maninder Singh, Chairman Chandigarh Housing Board and many more.

The members of the advisory council constituted to advise the administration on developmental issues of the city and policy matters introduced themselves to the Administrator in the first meeting.

The Administrator welcomed all the members by saying that it is so overwhelming to meet and know people from different walks of life. All the members have varied and extensive experience which is going to be really beneficial for the all round development of Chandigarh. He further stressed that in order to run the council in a structured manner, we will have various committees to examine different issues. Gradually we will refine on how many committees should be formed and what subjects and issues will be taken by them. With a vision to take our City Beautiful to the next level of smartness, he would want us all to focus on major policy issues.

It was also shared that revised guidelines would be made after taking suggestions of all the members to ameliorate the working of the council. In his concluding statement, the Administrator asked all the members to come prepared with the issues and ideas for the next meeting.
