Demonetization Helps Checking Black Money:Sanjay Tandon

Chandigarh 26th November:- BJP Chandigarh President, Sanjay Tandon today welcomed Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Communications, in Chandigarh. Senior BJP leaders, including Chander Shekhar, State General Secretary, Gajender Sharma, State Office Secretary and Amit Rana, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). 
The Minister during his meeting informed demonetization had got encouraging results from the post offices which had played an important role in helping common man during the demonetization drive. In Post Offices of Chandigarh old bank notes worth Rs. 21.14 crore were exchanged from 10thNov. to 24th Nov.  Similarly deposit of old bank note worth of Rs.  59.27 Crore took place in Post Offices Savings Schemes in Post Offices in Chandigarh. 
There is one Head Post Office and 53 Sub Post Offices in Chandigarh. All these post offices played an important role in helping common man during the demonetization drive. Special cash exchange counters were setup in all Post Offices in Chandigarh to facilitate people in exchanging the old 500 and 1000 bank notes. Separate counters were set up for senior citizens, physically challenged and ladies. 
Sanjay Tandon also apprised the minister of the issues concerning the residents of city. He informed no problems were faced by residents of Chandigarh and welcomed the demonetization move of Narendra Modi which has helped in checking black money. He said the move is giving good results and will also improve the financial health of the country.
