Nuclear Medicine Researchers Bring Laurels to the Institute at International Conferences

Chandigarh 22nd November:- Dr. Deepa Singh (Senior Resident) was awarded the best poster paper during the 4th Theranostics World Congress held at Melbourne, Australia . She presented her data on the usefulness of Lu177-EDTMP in the treatment and palliation of metastatic bone pain in prostate cancer patients.
Dr Priya Bhusari was given best paper award during the 11th International Conference of Radiopharmaceutical Therapy, held at Kochi for the development of a theranostic radiotracer, Lu-trastuzumab, for radioimmunotherapy of HER2 expressing metastatic breast cancer. The radiopharmaceutical was developed in-house at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, PGI. Preliminary studies showed promising results in terms of specificity for target and the in-vivo stability.

Dr Jaya Shukla Shukla got the award during the 11th International Conference of Radiopharmaceutical Therapy, held at Kochi for the development of radioactive skin patch for superficial application on keloids as a noninvasive modality with significant clinical and symptomatic response. All the patients in the study were having recurrent lesions even after undergoing one or more types of available therapy options (cryotherapy or intra-lesional injections or Silicone gel therapy).
