February:- The Punjabi crash course run by Panditrao Dharenavar in PGI
ends on International Mother language day. 21 day long Punjabi
crash course was attended by 10 Doctors and 15 Nurses. The course which was
meant to develop language skill to talk to patients in Punjabi and Hindi brought
great interest among PGI doctors towards local language.. During the 21
day course most of the nurses opted to learn Hindi than Punjabi.
Panditrao who has successfully run
the course said that he had many problems during the course because most of the
doctors and nurses were too busy to attend classes, therefore he had to
visit the departments to teach Punjabi and Hindi.
Panditrao said that he will run the
Punjabi and Hindi classes everyday in future also so that all the doctors learn
the local language.
