13th October:- State Govt. doing keen efforts towards
better health care facilities to the general public and is dedicatedly working
for providing primary health care services to the public in state, on the other
hand, Govt. is also efficiently working towards providing primary health care
facilities at the door step of slum & rural population. Explaining this
Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said that to fulfill the said objective
of State Govt, Mobile Medical Units are being operated in the district wherein
the medical staff deputed for the purpose provide health care facilities at the
door step of rural & slum population.
Deputy Commissioner said that medical
checkup of 8460 patient's stands conducted through Mobile Medical Unit and free
medicines have also been provided to the patients after conducted ECG & Lab
tests. She said that through Mobile Medical Unit ECG has been conducted for 124
patients, X-Rays have been done for 317 patients and 2492 lab tests were
conducted. She said that Mobile Medical Unit reach to the distant located areas
and provides basic health care facilities. She said that this mobile unit
is proving bliss for old age persons, and other poor & needy persons who
are unable to reach hospitals for health care facilities as free checkups and
medicines are being provided through these buses. Health department of Punjab
provided better health care facilities to the rural and urban population, on
the other hand the Mobile Medical Unit of Health Department serves the rural population
regularly except o gazetted holidays and every Saturday, it provides health
care facilities to the prisoners and persons.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Rita Bhardwaj said
that the Doctors and Para Medical Staff of the Mobile Unit conduct free
checkups in 2 different villages and slum areas on daily basis from 9. 00 am to
3.00 pm except on gazetted holidays. She said that the unit also provides free
medicines to the patients and villagers are appealed by the unit to get maximum
benefit from the services being provided through these Mobile Medical Units.
