Drawing attention
to environmental issues of pressing concern, Manav Rachna International School,
Mohali organized a five-day Earth Carnival coinciding with the World Earth Day on Sunday.
The school turned into one big community of Earth
lovers, spreading awareness about common environmental issues like conservation
of water and electricity, the need to grow more plants and much more during the
Earth Carnival, which began on April 19 and will continue till April 23.
Multifarious
activities were conducted involving the students to bring age-appropriate
awareness among the students about environmental issues. The enthusiasm was
palpable as students keenly took part in art and craft and poster making
activities in large numbers.
Children discussed
the impact of human activities on the environment and came up with ideas that
can make a difference at the individual level. They also learned theme-related
songs and dances and took out awareness drives, underlining the importance of
taking small steps to achieve bigger goals.
The school
resonated with the thought-provoking messages of students, who are determined
to bring about a difference to make the Earth a better place for future
generations.
The celebrations
concluded with a special assembly, where everyone took a pledge to save Mother
Earth and make it a healthy and beautiful place to live.
