Women’s Social Body Launches Campaign to Encourage Women to Helmets

Chandigarh 12th October:- On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, the Pink Brigade of the Nari Jagriti Manch (Reg), Chandigarh, launched a campaign on sector 36-37 lights to encourage women to wear helmets. While helmets were distributed, they were also encouraged to wear them for their own safety.
Sita Devi, Admin Traffic Inspector, Chandigarh Traffic Police and South West Traffic incharge Inspector Paramjit Kaur Sekhon were the chief guests. Campaign was led by chairman Neena Tiwari, while other members of the forum included Ranju Grover, Prem Lata, Pal Sharma, Sudarshan Sharma and other forum members.
Women of the Pink Brigade put tilak on the forehead of women who were not wearing helmets to celebrate the Navratri in a unique way and after giving them helmets, they wished to protect their life. Forum Chairperson Neena Tiwari said that women in Navaratri should recognize their power and make helmets as an integral part of their life to protect their lives. Life is precious, the value of the lives of women is equally important as of men.
She appealed to the women of the city to start wearing helmets. She said that the main purpose of the forum is to take adequate steps for the betterment of the society, for which she will always be ready and will continue to make women aware about the helmets in different camps organized by the forum from time to time.
On this occasion, Sita Devi, Admin Traffic Inspector of Chandigarh Traffic Police lauded the initiative of the Nari Jagriti Manch. She said that all women during Navratras must take the plege to safeguard their lives that they will use the helmets themselves and make other women more aware.
She said that it is also the responsibility of women to encourage every family member to wear helmets while driving a two-wheeler vehicle. Meanwhile, through posters and slogans women were also made aware and of driving safe by wearing helmets.
