Chandigarh 05th Mar, 2019:- Gender Champions' Club of Guru Gobind
Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh organized a Menstrual Awareness
Workshop titled “Let's Talk Periods”, on March 05, 2019. A short documentary
was featured for the students followed by an interactive session by Dr Nishpal
Kaur, a gynecologist by profession. She informed the students about the female
reproductive system, menstruation, and proper menstrual hygiene. The purpose of
the workshop was to sensitize students on various complications arising out of
lack of menstrual hygiene.
Dr
Manipal Kaur, Nodal Officer extended an eco-friendly welcome to the subject
expert. Principal, Dr Jatinder Kaur appreciated the expertise of the worthy
speaker and motivated the students to work towards confronting the stigmas
attached to menstruation.
The
students took pledge to spread awareness about menstruation as normal
biological process and a key sign of reproductive health. The gender champions
were given badges to become ambassadors to spread this message of reproductive
health.
