Chandigarh 26th November:- To spread the
cheer and warmth of the festive season, Hotel Velvet Clarks Exotica, Zirakpur,
organised a traditional plum cake mixing ceremony, to usher in and mark the
start of Christmas season. People from different walks of life were invited to
take part in the cake mixing event. Children, in-house guests and few other
well known citizens took part enthusiastically in the cake mixing.

Singh, GM, Velvet Clarks Exotica said that we had made arrangements of plastic
gloves and tissue aprons for those participating. Santa caps too were
distributed to all. The ingredients were kept on a12 feet long steel table. The
chef and his team had arranged these ingredients which weighed a whopping 100
kilos and included chopped, grated and sliced dried fruits. Our team made sure
that these were not just heaped on the table but were laid out in a colourful
combination in the shapes of a snowman Christmas tree.
With
colourful balloons all over, a fully-decorated Christmas tree with gifts under
it and Christmas carols playing in the background, the ambience filled the air
with festive joy.
The cake
mixing event provided a pretty picture as people mixed the omega-3 rich
walnuts, almonds, cashew nuts, pistas, dates, yellow, dry and black raisins,
apricot, figs, dry ginger chips, orange peels, prunes and cranberries along
with a variety of liquor to complete the ceremony.
The
traditional plum cake mixing is believed to be the harbinger of happiness in
the Christmas season.
