Balbir Sidhu Releases Cong 34-Point Election Manifesto

Chandigarh Feb. 10, 2021:- Punjab Health Minister, Balbir Singh Sidhu released Congress 34-point Election Manifesto for the February 14 Mohali Municipal Corporation elections, here on Wednesday.

Releasing the manifesto, he said that if voted to power, Congress party would implement the need based policy for residential houses to meet the long standing demand of the people of Mohali and to allow construction of first floor in commercial booths and bayshops.

He said , to provide better and cheaper public transport service to the people in Mohali, city bus service or any other suitable alternative would be provided.

Sidhu further said that in view of the plight of the people of Mohali a new bus stand linking the present one would be constructed at a suitable place so that the people coming here from Mohali city and all over Punjab could be relieved of the inconveniences.

He said that a new Civil Hospital will also be made in the city.

In addition to upgrading the existing government schools in Mohali city, new model schools would also be opened.  Apart from this kindergarten-pre-primary classes will also be provided in government schools.

He said that the sports stadiums functioning under GMADA would be brought under the purview of the Municipal Corporation and all the facilities of these sports stadiums would be provided to the young children and senior citizens at nominal fees. New playgrounds for children will also be set up.

While upgrading Mohali sole fire station, new fire brigade centers would be set up as per the requirements load so that fire extinguishing facility could be immediately provided in every nook and corner of city.

To check crime, CCTV cameras would be installed at all important places. This will also help in controlling the traffic, he maintained.

He said that besides beautifying the markets of Mohali, free Wi-Fi service would be provided to the customers coming there.

To provide skilled workers to the industrialists, a state-of-the-art Skill Institute Development Institute would be set up in Mohali which would also increase the employment opportunities for the youth.

Special efforts will be made to set up new industries and invest in Mohali to provide employment to the youth.

The re-carpeting of roads will be done with new technique so that level of roads remains same. A new state-of-the-art gaushala at a land of 10.50 acre of land would be set up by a  NGO where dog care would also be provided.

He added that appropriate arrangements will be made for proper disposal of garbage and waste of the city so that the environment here can be kept clean and healthy. Appropriate measures will also be taken to make the city polythene free.

During occasion Rajinder Singh Rana, Amarjit  Singh  Jeeti Sidhu, Rishav Jain, ex senior deputy mayor , Kuljeet Singh Bedi, Harkesh Sharma, chairman of Kharar Market Committee, Harpreet Singh Bunty, Victor Niholka , HS Riar and Kamalpreet Singh Banni were also present.
