September:- ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ ਨਗਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਵੱਛ ਭਾਰਤ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਤਹਿਤ ਸਫਾਈ ਪੰਦਰਵਾੜਾ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਜਿਸ ਤਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫਾਈ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ । ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਦੇ ਨਿਗਰਾਨ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰ ਨਰੇਸ਼ ਬੱਤਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਵੱਛ ਭਾਰਤ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਤਹਿਤ ਥੀਮੈਟਿਕਲ ਕਲੀਨੈਸ ਅਭਿਆਨ 15 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਜਿਸ ਤਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫਾਈ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਅਭਿਆਨ ਤਹਿਤ ਸਕੂਲੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਨਾ੍ਹਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਅਭਿਆਨ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਸਕੇ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੈਨੀਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਡਿਊਟੀਆਂ ਲਗਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਿ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ-ਸਫਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਦੀ ਸਵੱਛਤਾ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ ।

Club. Present on the occasion Lavish Kathuria, Karan Gupta of Bull 18 Network, Model Rupali Sood and noted Punjabi

Sarbhjit-Rupinder Barnala.
Sukhy Mann while briefing the media said that
he was fond of song writing since childhood and so far he has written more than 100 songs. He said
two months ago his own written song – ‘Tight’
was sung by himself and also
released by own company Desh Records. Over 13 lakhs viewers had gone through this song on youtube.
He said that his new song Vihah Tohn Baad was
released on August 31 on youtube
followed by various Punjabi channels on September 2. The song is written by Singhjeet while music is composed by Ji Guri. Song was
shot at Samrala and picturesque locations of
Baddi. Video is done by Kites.
Desi World is the online radio partner of the song.
The song is summarized on little bit of sweet
and bitter experiences of
lovers. Model Rupali Sood has really done a splendid work in this
video. Two more songs will be released in
October this year. Mann said he
hails from Mannawala, Tehsil Dhuri of District Sangrur. He has done
his XII Class from Dhuri followed by BA Music
Vocal from Malerkotla. He was trained
under Professor Anil Bharti. He said his interest in music since school time and represented school and is
a state level performer too.
Chandigarh to Conduct Leprosy Case Detection Campaign from 5th to 18th September

September:- The Department of Health &
Family Welfare U.T., Chandigarh is conducting a Leprosy Case Detection Campaign
(LCDC) from 5th to 18th September 2016 in the targeted
areas of the city to detect the hidden Leprosy cases and to spread awareness
about the disease. In this regard, a meeting was held on 31.08.2016 under the
chairmanship of Anurag Agarwal, Secretary Health Chandigarh. He emphasized that
to eradicate Leprosy, people should come and reveal the disease rather than
conceal it so that the treatment can
be provided at the earliest. During the campaign, a house to house search
activity will be carried out by trained field health workers. A population of
around 7 lacs will be covered by 575 teams.
The purpose of the campaign is to
look for patients having depigmented
or hypo pigmented patches on the skin along with loss of sensations or deformity
in hands or feet. The suspected patients will be referred to the respective
Health centers and finally they will be validated by dermatologists. Any person
having suspected leprosy lesions should voluntarily report to the Government
Hospitals, where treatment is provided free of cost.

Chandigarh Health Department To organize Free Health cum Screening Camp at Behlana

Health Department is going to organize free Health cum Screening Camp at Village,
Behlana on 3rd September, 2016 (Saturday) from 8.00 AM onwards. This
is in continuation of previous Six Health Camps held at Daddu Majra,
Maulijagran, Dhanas, Ramdarbar, PHD-25 and Civil Dispensary, Sector 8.
Dr.
Vanita Gupta, Director Health Services said that the doctors from various
specialities like Medicine, Gynae., Skin, Eye, ENT will be examining patients
and will be providing free consultation. Health promotion and awareness
generation regarding prevention, timely detection and management of Non Communicable
Diseases and other diseases will be the main highlight of the screening camp.
During
the camp people will be screened for Leprosy, Oral, Breast and Cervical
Cancers. Women above 30 yrs will be screened for Breast and Cervical Cancer by Gynecologists
from Chandigarh Health Department. Risk profiling of patients will also be done
for Non Communicable Diseases. General public will also be sensitized about
adoption of healthy lifestyle including healthy food and importance of physical
activity. Mobile food testing van will also be available at the venue for
testing food samples and various laboratory tests including Blood Sugar, HIV
and VDRL will also be conducted at the venue.
Chandigarh Gets Award for Fund Raising and Membership Running Shield

the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman Indian Red Cross
Society, U.T. Branch, Chandigarh is providing succor to people in distress for
decades and continues to uphold the cause of good health for all through its
activities. This has been made possible only due to generous contribution from
the general public towards noble cause of this Society both in cash and in
kind. It is through these contributions that the I.R.C.S., Chandigarh is
running and maintaining charitable activities and projects under the banner of
Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch, Chandigarh.
To
raise the fund of the Society and to make aware the general public about the
activities of Red Cross and its Aims and Objectives, the branch had launched a
Membership Drive during last year. Under this drive, the Society had enrolled
Life associates, Life Members and Patrons of the Indian Red Cross Society
during the year and generated a sum of Rs.2,59,670/- through the drive as
donation and Membership Subscription for raising the fund for the welfare of
the community towards humanity. The U.T. Branch, Chandigarh got selected for the
award of Fund Raising and Membership Running Shield and was awarded 1st
Position for the year 2015-16. The award was presented by Hon’ble President of
India-cum-President of Indian Red Cross Society & St. John Ambulance (India)
in the Annual General Meeting of Indian Red Cross Society & St. John
Ambulance (India), National Headquarters during Ceremonial Session held on 30th
August, 2016in Rashtrapati Bhawan Auditorium, at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.

To
provide more assistance and facilities to the poor, needy and destitute people
of the society, the Red Cross has decided to work more in this field jointly
with other social organisations. An intensive drive in Fund Raising,
Membership, Blood Donation and service to the needy will be launch very soon.
Besides other welfare projects, the construction of Red Cross Sarai at PGI is
one of the most important project of the Red Cross Society, Chandigarh to
provide safe and comfortable accommodation to about 500 patients and their
attendants. The construction of this Sarai is going to start soon with an
estimated cost of rupees fifteen crore in additional to a Home for Mentally
& physically challenged children at Chandigarh.
