16th September:- Tata AIG General Insurance Company
Limited, has entered into an agreement with Paytm - India’s largest mobile
payment and commerce platform, to provide health insurance for cab and auto
drivers. This distinct contract will enable cab and auto drivers, who are using
Paytm’s digital wallet, to avail cashless health insurance through Tata AIG
General Insurance Company Limited.
Tata AIG General Insurance Company
Limited has designed cashless
insurance scheme, as required by Paytm, to
provide drivers, quality medical care as per their need and budget. Further,
the affordability barrier is broken by enabling premium payments in installments.
While subscribing to the policy the existing health condition of drivers will
also be covered under this scheme. The new health insurance scheme will cover
hospitalization expenses of up to INR 50,000. This initiative has already
received a good response in Delhi/ NCR, with over 1,800 drivers signing up and
the services are expected to extend to other regions of India soon.
Judging from the fact that this segment
has limited ability and propensity to get health insurance otherwise,
this group health insurance arrangement
between Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited and Paytm comes as a
boon to thousands of drivers across the country, who otherwise are not
motivated to take medical insurance.
