21st October:- The 21st edition
of CII Chandigarh Fair 2016 kicked
off to a colorful start at the Parade Ground, Sector 17, here today. Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki inaugurated
the Fair at the ribbon cutting ceremony. He also visited various stalls at the
venue. Speaking on the occasion, Haryana
Governor said that the Chandigarh Fair has started on a very auspicious
day as today is also the day when the Azad Hind Fauj was formed and it is a
beautiful coincidence that this is also the 21st edition of the
CII Chandigarh Fair 2016. I am delighted to see the variety of stalls and
products for all ages and tastes available at the Fair.

have come forward as Sponsors in various categories and welcome the visitors

Council and CEO & Director, Nectar Life Sciences Ltd; said that CII’s
endeavour has always been to cater to the demands of the people of the region.
For past 20 years the CII has been bringing the very best in consumer products
etc for the discerning Diwali shoppers from the region and this year is no
different. CII will continue to expand its reach to more people in the region through
its various activities. He further added that the fair promises to be a true
shopping festival for residents as it brings bring the best of products with
latest technologies and variety under one roof. Every stall will offer something
different to the shoppers.
Security and other arrangements have
been made at the Fair venue. Private security guards have been deployed at all
entries and exits at the venue. Besides, CCTVs have also been installed at
various points. Medical team from INSCOL has been deputed to provide medical
facilities at the venue. Public toilets have also been provided for visitors
besides drinking water facilities and food court. Fire brigade is also on
standby. The main halls at the Fair have been covered with a special fire
resistant sheet which also stops the heat from entering the halls.
To fulfill financial needs of visitors
from the region, the show has a concurrent show Finmart featuring banks, financial institutions, etc
promoting financial services being offered by companies such as Religare Group,
State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, UCO Bank, Andhra Bank
and United Bank of India. General

Sharma, said that besides various schemes for trade, housing and cars,
we have come up with Kids’ Banking Scheme for children above the age of 10 years.
Under this scheme, we provide personalized ATM cards and two free cheque-books
to kids.
