04th December:- The Randhawa Auditorium of the Punjab
Kala Bhavan resounded with revolutionary songs of Sant Ram Udasi sung by the
people who carry on his legacy. The event was organised by the Malwa Cultural
and Welfare Society as part of its annual function. Punjab Sangeet Natak
Akademi was the co-sponsor. SGPC member Jathedar Karnail Singh Panjoli was the
chief guest.
The programme started with Jugraj
Dhaula lending his voice to the spirited writings of one of the most popular
revolution writers of not too distant a time. Udasi’s daughter Iqbal Kaur
represents the legacy of her father by singing his songs. It may be mentioned
that Udasi was not only a writer but also revolutionary singer. Other singers
included Karamjit Anmol, Sukhwinder Sukhi and Prof Simnranjit Kaur.
