Director, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry while speaking during
one-day workshop
on Maximizing Employee Productivity through Effective Performance Management said that the fundamental goal
of performance management is to promote and improve employee effectiveness, when effectively implemented, Performance Management System
can mobilize the human energy in an organization and achieve breakthrough
performance. The event was organized by PHD Chamber of
Commerce & Industry in
association with Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation,
Germany on 24 January 2017 at PHD House,
Chandigarh.
Eminent speaker, Dr. Sunil Abrol, President, Institute for Consultancy and
Productivity Research & Director, World Academy of Productivity Sciences
(WAPS), New Delhi mentioned Performance
Management is matching employee development with company objective so that
employee can perform as per expectations. It is process of optimization that
ends up when an employee fulfills predefined goals. He explained the basic
steps in the Performance Analysis Process and concluded by saying that
performance objectives and indicators need to be SMART-specific, measurable,
attainable, realistic and time-bound.
Speaking
on the occasion,
Saurabh Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, People Development
Group at IDS Infotech Ltd., Chandigarh stated
that to act upon the outcomes of the performance management, right
process is necessary to ensure that good performance is recognized. He apprised participants on performance rating
scales; conducting meaningful performance appraisal discussions and effective
goal setting with employees.
Presentations on topics comprising of Performance Management
Objectives, Drafting and Implementing Performance Management System; Setting
Performance Criteria/ Targets; Performance Monitoring and Review; Performance
Feedback and Follow up Action including Reward / Recognition process were
discussed in detail during the day long workshop.
