Zero Tolerance on Corruption in Health Department:Brahm Mohindra

Chandigarh 22nd March:- The health department will not tolerate any kind of corruption at any level. Chairing his maiden meeting with the civil surgeons from across the state, Brahm Mohindra, health Minister Punjab today said that the Chief Minister of Punjab Capt. Amarinder Singh has already made his vision clear to eradicate the corruption from the state and make it zero tolerance.
Carrying his vision forward today Brahm Mohindra instructed the officials to strictly implement this at every level. He said that special focus will be given on the De Addiction centers running across the state and responsibility of every civil surgeon will be fixed for any kind of lapses if found. He instructed them to regularly visit the centers and report back to him.
Brahm Mohindra also asked the officials from the field to prepare the duty roster for the doctors on duty in emergency services at least 15 days in advance so that absentees from the crucial duties is minimized. Civil surgeons will also be held responsible for the availability of essential drugs and medicine shortage in the hospitals. The surgeons have been directed to conduct surprise checks on the 108 ambulances and report back. He also asked the officials to behave politely with the patients.
The minister also asked about the 104 helpline working and its report in the last two months. The civil surgeons were asked to keep the essential equipment in working order.
He also assured the people of Punjab that the government is bound to give them best health facilities, which will be given them in this regime. He also directed the officials to come up to the expectations of the people of Punjab.
