Chandigarh 17^th June:- चंडीगढ़ की जानी मानी सांस्कृतिक संस्था प्राचीन कला केन्द्र द्वारा पूर्व श्रद्धा एवं आदर से अपने संस्थापक गुरू एम.एल.कौसर की 89वीं जयंति के अवसर पर विशेष कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जा रहा है। प्राचीन कला केन्द्र के वास्तुकार गुरू एम.एल.कौसर ने केन्द्र को बहुआयामी कलाओं का ऐसा मंदिर बनाया है जिसमें भारतीय कलाओं को सिर्फ सहेजा नहीं जाता बल्कि यहां कला एवं संस्कृति का प्रचार प्रसार भी उतनी ही शिद्दत से किया जाता है ।

गुरू एम.एल.कौसर की 89वीं जयंति के अवसर पर प्राचीन कला केन्द्र दो खास कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करने जा रहा है । इसमें पहले कार्यक्रम में शहर के सभी जाने माने अखबारों के 49 जर्नलिस्टों द्वारा फोटो प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन किया जा रहा है । इस प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन केन्द्र के चंडीगढ़ परिसर में स्थित प्राचीन कला केन्द्र आर्ट गैलरी में किया जाएगा। इस प्रदर्शनी को इस क्षेत्र के जाने माने फोटो जर्नलिस्ट स्वर्गीय योग जाॅए को समर्पित है ।
दूसरा आयोजन 20जून को टैगोर थियेटर में शाम को 6रू30बजे किया जाएगा । जिसमें जाने माने गज़ल गायक विनोद सहगल अपनी प्रस्तुति देंगें ।

Team CII-Yi Wins by 5 Wickets in the Grand Finale of Corporate Premier League

Chandigarh 17^th June:- The Grand Finale of CII-Yi Corporate Premier League concluded in high spirits with energetic performances by the corporate players. The tournament had set an example for the new generation professionals that both their work and their physical fitness can go hand in hand.

Tejdeep Singh Saini, Director–Sports, Chandigarh Administration said that Corporate Professionals should engage in Sports more frequently” while congratulating the participants. He appreciated the initiative by CII-Yi and expressed that he would like to see more such sports activities in the near future. Sushil Kapoor, Spokesperson, Punjab Cricket Association, Mohali was also present during the match and encouraged the teams to showcase the best of their talents.

The tournament started in May 2019 and saw its last leg with the grand victory of CII-Yi in a day-night match at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium. The team defeated TT Consultants by 5 wickets who gave them a tough competition by setting a goal of 133 runs. Team CII-Yi ended with a total of 135 runs in just 18.1 overs.

Team TT Consultants won the toss and decided to bat first and made a total of 132 runs in 20 overs. Mohan from its team amazed the audience with his performance that included five 4s and four 6s with a total of 59 runs in just 45 balls.

Sushil Chaudary from Team CII-Yi added to his team’s victory by scoring a marvelous total of 47 runs in just 29 balls and was awarded Man of the Match and Best All-Rounder of the Series. Rahul Kad from Team Federal Mogul was chosen the Best Batsman of the Series owing to his scintillating performance. Vishek from TT Consultants was awarded the Best Bowler of the Series.

The tournament ended with a Closing Ceremony in which the best of the Sports talent was awarded amongst an enthusiastic crowd of local fans.

Chandigarh Golf Club Junior Training Programme Golf Championship: First Tournament on 28th June

Chandigarh 17^th June:- The Chandigarh Golf Club with its commitment, dedication and support towards junior golfers is continuing to promote golf amongst the budding golfers of the Tricity. The Chandigarh Golf Club Junior Training Programme Golf Championship will be conducted on 28^th June.  SPS Matharoo, Captain of Chandigarh Golf Club is extending his full support in the promotion of junior golf this year and said that the idea is to give tournament exposure in a competitive environment to the young budding golfers which will enable them to perform even better at the National and International level. Non-Members are also allowed to participate in our junior events.

The tournament will have a total of 7 categories: Category A (Under 18 years) ; Category B (Under 15 years) ; Category C (Under 13 years) ; Category D (Under 11 years) ; Category E (Under 9 years) ; Category F (Under 7 years). The event will be played over 18 holes on a Gross format in all categories. However, Category E & F will play 9 holes only.

Sanjay Talwar, Chairman Junior Golf Programme at Chandigarh Golf Club added that to promote golf and the competitive spirit this time we have added another category (Putting) for those children who are beginners to the game. This will give even the new comers to the game a chance to compete amongst themselves and be a part of the event.  

There will be prizes in each category for boys and girls. The prize distribution ceremony will be on 28^th June itself. Last date of entry is 25^th June. यूटी कर्मचारियों द्वारा 19 जून के धरने की तैयारियां पूरी

Chandigarh 17^th June:- फैड़रेशन ऑफ यूटी इम्पलाईज एण्ड वर्करज चण्डीगढ़ के आह्वान पर 19 जून 2019 को सैक्टर 17 में दिये जा रहे धरने की तैयारियां पूरी कर ली गई हैं। इस सम्बन्ध में फैड़रेशन के अलग अलग यूनिटों द्वारा अपने अपने कार्यालयों में गेट मीटिंग व रैलियों का दौर  भी मुक्कमल कर लिया गया है। इस संबध में आज यूटी पावरमैन युनियन, यूटी रोड वर्कर युनियन, एम सी रोड वर्कर यूनियन, भारतीय बाल कल्याण परिषद कर्मचारी यूनियन, एम सी पब्लिक हैल्थ वर्कर युनियन, एम सी हॉर्टीकल्चर वर्कर युनियन, एम सी मनीमाजरा इम्पलाई युनियन आदि युनियनों ने अपनी मीटिंग कर तैयारियों का जायजा लिया जिसमें सभी युनियनों 19 जून के धरने की मुक्कमल तैयारी की रिर्पोट की।  फैड़रेशन के महासचिव गोपाल दत्त जोशी प्रधन रघवीर चन्द, वरिष्ठ उप प्रधान राजेन्द्र कटोच, भीमसेन, उप-प्रधान ध्यान सिंह, हरपाल सिंह, रेखा शर्मा, संयुक्त सचिव बिहारी लाल, अमरीक सिंह, हरकेश चन्द, पी कामराज, विशराम आदि ने अपने अपने विभागों में मीटिंग के बाद जानकारी दी। वक्ताओं ने संयुक्त ब्यान जारी करते हुए कहा कि 19 जून का धरना कर्मचारियांे की मांगों के समर्थन में तथा मांगों पर प्रशासन के अडियल व नकारात्मक रवैये के विरोध में किया जा रहा है। 

प्रमुख मांगों में सभी डेलीवेज, वर्कचार्ज, कान्ट्रेक्ट व आउटसोर्स पर रखे कर्मचारियों को पक्का करने व पक्का होने तक बराबर काम-बराबर वेतन लागू करने, बिजली, पानी आदि सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के संस्थाओं का निजीकरण बन्द करने तथा स्थाई काम पर आउटसोर्सिंग व ठेकेदारी खत्म करने, कम से कम वेतन रूपये 18000 प्रतिमाह करने, सार्वभौगिक रूप से सामाजिक सुरक्षा लाभ व पैंशन लाभ दिलाने व असंगठित क्षेत्र के मजदूरों को भी इस दायरे में शामिल करने, मजदूर - कर्मचारियों के हित में बने श्रम कानूनों में बदलाव न करने, सभी विभागों में खाली पउ़ी पोस्टों पर नियमित भर्ती करने, भर्ती व प्रामोशन के नियमों में संशोधन करने, 5 प्रतिशत सीलिंग खत्म कर पंजाब के आधर पर मृतक कर्मचारियों के आश्रितों को नौकरी देने, 4 अक्तूबर 2010 को ड्रा में सफल कर्मचारियों को शीघ्र मकान देने व अन्य कर्मचारियों व अन्य कर्मचारियों के लिए भी पारदर्शी सैल्फ फाइनेसिंग हाउसिंग स्कीम शुरू करने, चण्डीगढ़ प्रशासन व एमसी में आउटसार्स पर रखे कर्मचारियों को दिल्ली की तर्ज पर सीधे विभागों के अधीन रखने, कर्मचारियें की वेतन-विसंगति दूर करने, इडियन काउसिंल के कर्मचारियों को यूटी कर्मियों के बराबर वेतन, मंहगाई भत्ता व रूका हुआ डीसी रट बहाल करने डयूटी के दौरान मृतक कर्मचारियों के आश्रितों को स्पेशल पैंशन व मुआवजा देने, पंजाब की तर्ज पर कैशलैस हैल्थ इन्शोरेंस स्कीम लागू करने तथा रेगुलाइजेशन पालिसी बनाने, वीडीपीओ विभग के कर्मचारियों को एमसी का कर्मचरी मानने, सिटको का निजीकरण रोकने, फील्ड कर्मचारियों को औजार, सुरक्षाउपकरण, तेल, साबुन, वर्दियां व ग्रेड पे तथा एलटीए देने आदि शामिल है। 

फैडरेशन के पदाधिकारियों ने चण्डीगढ़ प्रशासन, नगर निगम व अन्य संस्थाओं के कर्मचारियों को 19 जून को नगर निगम सैक्टर 17 के सामने दिये जा रहे धरने में भारी संख्या में शामिल होने की अपील की है।                       

Peace Walk in the Himalayas to Strengthen Indo-Thai Ties

Chandigarh 15^th June:- The pad yatra of 200 Thai monks and nuns, which began on 25^th May from Dharamshala, will conclude at Leh on 26^th June. Purpose of this 4^th annual pad yatra is to spread the message of world peace and protection of Himalayan environment. The peace walk has already covered more than half way walking through the Manali, Rohtang Pass, Sarchu route. The walk is expected to enhance the India and Thailand relations.

Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, President, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Leh (Ladakh) said that we wholeheartedly welcome each and everyone for the 4th Pad Yatra for ‘World Peace and 3-Day International Conference on World Peace, 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of the Himalayas’. The conference will be on June 26-28.

Narviay Yadav, General Secretary, Save the Himalayas Foundation (SHF) Chandigarh Chapter, said that people from India may join the Peace Walk in the last leg of the yatra at Leh. SHF is an initiative to preserve the true grace of Himalayas and protect the eco system.  The SHF was founded by Ven Sanghasena in 2016 to restore the lost grace and grandeur of the Himalayan region and to protect the land, nature, cultures and values that form this glorious part of Earth.

The pad yatra, a walking pilgrimage, began from Bodh Gaya and via Dharamshala, it entered the Ladakh region, where it will conclude at MIMC Leh. The yatras conducted so far have played a key role in enhancing the diplomatic and religious ties between Thailand and India and this year as the number of participants is higher, it will further lead to mutual prosperity, happiness and triumph for both the nations, which have always played a vital role in promoting peace and harmony in the region. Paras Bliss to Offer Telemedicine Services and Training to Doctors & Nurses to Improve Neonatal Health Services

Panchkula 15^th June:- To Create awareness on “Status of Neonatal Health Services in India & Haryana’ a team of Doctors from Paras Bliss Hospital, Panchkula addressed the media persons today. Present on the occasion were Dr O N Bhakoo Director Paediatrics & Neonatology, Dr K L N Rao-Director Paediatric Surgery and Dr Saurabh Goel–Senior Consultant Neonatology from Paras Bliss Hospital Panchkula. 

Speaking on the occasion Dr O N Bhakoo said that of the 6.6 million under-five child deaths that occur globally every year, about 44 percent occur in the neonatal period (the first 28 days of life); this proportion is even higher in India– around 54 percent.”India contributes to one-fifth of global live births and more than a quarter of neonatal deaths. About 0.76 million neonates died every year in India. Also 70 % of infant deaths in India occur in first 04 weeks of Birth.

Addressing the media persons Dr Sorabh Goel said India has made considerable progress over the last two decades in the area of maternal and child health, through innovative and comprehensive health packages that covers the spectrum of Reproductive Child Health (RCH). New-borns however have missed out on the attention. The three major causes of neonatal deaths are complications of pre term birth, neonatal infections, and delivery related complications like birth asphyxia; together, they contribute to nearly 90% of total neonatal deaths. Neonatal mortality rate in Haryana are at around 28 deaths per 1000 birth, which is at par with backward stats like Jharkhand & Bihar and much higher than the lowest in the country.

Speaking on the occasion Dr K L N Rao said Oesophageal atresia, Anorectal Malformations, Intestinal Obstructions are common emergency surgical conditions and Inguinal Hernia, Pyloric stenosis and abdominal mass are semi emergency conditions in Newborns. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa Becomes Life President of Punjab Olympic Association

Chandigarh 15^th June:- The President of the Punjab Olympic Association (POA) Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa today voluntarily resigned from his office after which the Vice President Brahm Mohindra was nominated as the Working President till the elections to the association are held.

In the Executive Meeting and Annual General House of the POA here today at the Punjab Olympic Bhawan, the services of S S Dhindsa as President for 41 years were applauded and it was unanimously decided to make him the Life President of POA in order to enable him to keep guiding the association. The meeting also saw congratulations pouring in for S S  Dhindsa for being bestowed with the Padma Bhushan and the award was applauded as a matter of honour for the association. It was further decided to felicitate Sukdev Singh Dhindsa in a grand function by all the sports associations and the players in recognition of his exceptional services rendered.

The meeting saw the unanimous passing of the proposal to nominate the Vice President of the association and Local Government Minister, Punjab, Brahm Mohindra as the Working President. The proposal afterwards also got the green light from the Annual General House. During the meeting, the decision was also arrived at to form a committee under the leadership of Brahm Mohindra which would coordinate with the Punjab Government concerning matters related to the association. On the occasion, Brahm Mohindra and Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu announced grants to the POA to the tune of Rs. 10 lakh each from their discretionary quotas which was greatly appreciated by all the members.

Earlier, the Secretary General of the POA Raja K.S. Sidhu while conducting the proceedings presented the report detailing the various works undertaken during the previous period. He disclosed that under the stewardship of Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, a sprawling Punjab Olympic Association bhawan came up at Mohali. The efforts done by the Senior Vice President of the POA Rajdeep Singh Gill with regard to constructing a Hall of Fame within the bhawan were also greatly appreciated. The Hall of Fame depicts photographs plus achievements of the international level players from Punjab.

It was also decided in the meeting that the convention hall in the bhawan be christened as 'Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa Convention Hall'. In the aftermath of the meeting, all the office bearers visited the Hall of Fame at the ground floor. Earlier, at the start of the meeting, all the office bearers observed 2 minutes of silence in the memory of the Treasurer of the association P. S. Virk who passed away in 2015.

Among other office bearers of the POA present on the occasion included Sikander Singh Maluka, Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Padam Shri Kartar Singh, N. S. Kalsi, K. S. Kang, Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu, Teja Singh Dhaliwal, Rajinder Kalsi, Prabhjit Singh, Karambir Singh, Gurbir Sandhu, Harcharan Singh Bhullar, P. R. Sondhi, Arjuna Awardee Tara Singh, Arjuna Awardee Jaipal Singh, and Deputy Director, Sports Department, Punjab, Kartar Singh Sehambi and Media Advisor of POA Navdeep Singh Gill.
