Helping Hapless Helps Bring Back Young Girl Being Tortured in Dubai: Bibi Ramoowalia

Chandigarh 09th May:- President of NGO Helping Hapless and former Chairperson of Mohali Planning Committee Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia today in a Press Conference Presented a Girl Miss Heena ( Name Changed ) who was being held captive in Dubai against her will for last four months.
Heena sald that the Travel Agent from Jalandhar by Name of Arora took Rs. 2 lacs from her for working in a company, but on reaching Dubai, she was locked in room for several days and later sends to the home of Mohammed Abdullah as a Domestic Maid. Heena said that she was forced to work for twenty hours in a day and whenever she requested for Break she was beaten up. Mohammed Abdullah told her that his family has bought her for two and Half Lacs and if she wants to go back she has to pay them their Two and Lacs only then they will let her go, or else she has to work as per their requirements. Abdullah the employer of Heena threatened that if she tries to run away they will chop off her hands and feet and throw her body in untraceable location. She had lost hope of coming back to India and sees her family.
Heena’s Father then approached NGO Helping Hapless President Amanjot Ramoowalia at Chandigarh and Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia assured her father that she will get me back. After this she was in regular touch through Whatts Up with Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia. After listening to her whole story Amanjot Ramoowalia and seeing the Pictures of burnt hands and legs as Heena was continuously abused mentally and emotionally tortured by her Employer.
Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia on 27th March wrote Indian High Commissioner Navdeep Suri and got in touch over the Phone as well, Indian Mission was very Co-Operative to get India’s Daughter back to her parents. Finally on 28th April, Dubai Police brought Heena back from the Crutches of her employer Mohammed Abdullah and she was flown back to New Delhi.
Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia said further that there are thousands of Indians both Men and Women are sold in Middle East and made to work like slaves. As the situation is very alarming she said Indian Government as well as Punjab Government needs to introduce tougher Laws to deal with such Travel Agents and thus provide Justice to Innocent Indians who are suffering mentally, Physically and Financially.
