Patriotic Play “Chhipan Ton Pehlan” Staged

Chandigarh 09th May:- A patriotic play “Chhipan Ton Pehlan” was staged today at Punjab Kala Bhawan. The play was arranged by the Day Care Centre for Elderly Disabled, Sector 15-Chandigarh. The Day Care Centre works under the aegis of Chandigarh SC, BC Corporation, UT, Chandigarh.
Written by Davinder Daman, the audience though this play was enlightened on the dialogues between Shaheed Bhagat Singh with jail officials and his mother before he was to be hanged. The play describes the ideology, philosophy and dedication of martyr Bhagat Singh.
The cast included Jarnail Singh Hoshiarpuri (as Martyr Bhagat Singh), Yamini Kapoor (as Mother of Bhagat Singh), Baljit Singh Bala (as Sweeper), Vijay Beri (as Jail Warden) while Sandeep Kamboj and Roshni performed as play back singers. All these characters were played by members and officials of Day Care Centre.
The audience were left spellbound by the performances and were   left in tears after watching this one hour play.
Chandigarh SC, BC Corporation has set up the Day Care Centre for elderly disabled with an aim of promoting “Ageing with Joy & Dignity”. This Day Care Centre provides quality clinical and social services in a safe, supportive and stimulating environment to elders who cannot remain alone, but also not require round-the-clock residential care.  The staffs at the Centre promotes hope and support to the aging and disabled and at the same time, strives to promote wellness, independence, and dignity.
