19th September:- The book entitled “Clinical Rounds in
Endocrinology” was released by the Director, PGI, Chandigarh on the PGI Annual
Research Day. The book has been published by Springer, Germany and has been
simultaneously launched across the 160 countries in the world.
This book is unique, as it is written
in a lucid question-answer format and comprises 20 chapters with approximately
1200 questions. All these questions are unique, as they have been
spontaneously and innovatively generated during hospital clinical rounds. The
book is not only helpful for Endocrinologists, but also for Physicians,
Gynaecologists, Pediatricians and Orthopaedicians, as chapters-related to
Endocrinology for these specialties have also been incorporated. All
these chapters in the book have been written by Dr. Anil Bhansali, Prof.&
Head, Department of Endocrinology, PGI, Chandigarh. The book
comprises 300 clinical illustrations and 100 flow-diagrams, which have been
generated by the authors Bhansali and Gogate themselves. In
addition, the book is up-to-date, as it has covered related-literature till
December 2015 and to make it comprehensive, approximately 5000 research papers
have been reviewed. Therefore, it is a scientific update in
Endocrinology and useful even for practicing trained Endocrinologists.
