Chandigarh 09^th May:- ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਮੁਹੱਈਆਂ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੁਣ ਸਾਹਿਬਜਾਦਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਗਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ 'ਚ ਚਲ ਰਹੇ 80 ਸੇਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਨਵਿਆਉਣ ਸਮੇਤ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ 10 ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਸਪਰਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵਾਂ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੁਹੱਈਆਂ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਦਮੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਹੁਣ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇੜਲੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ , ਨਵੀਨੀਰਕਨ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ  ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਲੀਰੈਂਸ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ (ਪੀ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ), 60 ਪੇਜ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਅਪਲਾਈ ਕਰਨ, ਨਾਬਾਲਗਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਅਪਲਾਈ ਕਰਨ, ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਗੁਆਚਣ, ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਖਰਾਬ ਹੋਣ  ਜਾਂ ਚੋਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸੂਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਬਿਨੈਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਸੂਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਲਈ ਬਿਨੈ ਪੱਤਰ, ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਲਈ ਸਮਾ ਲੈਣ ਤੇ ਮਿੱਥੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਲੈਣ ਆਦਿ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। 

ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਸਪਰਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਐਨ.ਐਲ. ਦੇ ਲੈਂਡ ਲਾਇਨ ਟੈਲੀਫੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਰੌਡਬੈਂਡ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਟ ਦੇ ਬਿਲ ਭਰਨ ਲਈ ਦੂਰ ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਇਹ ਸੇਵਾ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੇੜਲੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਿਲ ਜਮਾ ਕਰਵਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਦੀ ਬੱਚਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।  ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਨਿਚਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਵੀ ਖੁੱਲੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੇਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਮ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਕੰਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੁੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਲੇ ਗਏ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲਾਹਾ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇੜਲੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਦੇਣ।

Patriotic Play “Chhipan Ton Pehlan” Staged

Chandigarh 09^th May:- A patriotic play “Chhipan Ton Pehlan” was staged today at Punjab Kala Bhawan. The play was arranged by the Day Care Centre for Elderly Disabled, Sector 15-Chandigarh. The Day Care Centre works under the aegis of Chandigarh SC, BC Corporation, UT, Chandigarh.

Written by Davinder Daman, the audience though this play was enlightened on the dialogues between Shaheed Bhagat Singh with jail officials and his mother before he was to be hanged. The play describes the ideology, philosophy and dedication of martyr Bhagat Singh.

The cast included Jarnail Singh Hoshiarpuri (as Martyr Bhagat Singh), Yamini Kapoor (as Mother of Bhagat Singh), Baljit Singh Bala (as Sweeper), Vijay Beri (as Jail Warden) while Sandeep Kamboj and Roshni performed as play back singers. All these characters were played by members and officials of Day Care Centre.

The audience were left spellbound by the performances and were   left in tears after watching this one hour play.

Chandigarh SC, BC Corporation has set up the Day Care Centre for elderly disabled with an aim of promoting “Ageing with Joy & Dignity”. This Day Care Centre provides quality clinical and social services in a safe, supportive and stimulating environment to elders who cannot remain alone, but also not require round-the-clock residential care.  The staffs at the Centre promotes hope and support to the aging and disabled and at the same time, strives to promote wellness, independence, and dignity.

ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਸਪਰਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ  ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ 149 ਕਰੋੜ 05 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਇਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ 91 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ। ਬਕਾਇਆ 14 ਕਰੋੜ 11 ਲੱਖ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਇਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ  ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 98 ਹਜਾਰ 198 ਮੀਟਰਿਕ ਟਨ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਲੀਫਟਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੀਫਟਿੰਗ ਦਾ 98 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਸਪਰਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਏਂਜੰਸੀ ਪਨਗਰੇਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ 24 ਹਜਾਰ 185 ਮੀਟਰਿਕ ਟਨ ਕਣਕ, ਮਾਰਕਫੈਡ ਵੱਲੋ 16 ਹਜਾਰ 112 ਮੀਟਰਿਕ ਟਨ, ਪਨਸ਼ਪ ਵੱਲੋਂ, 13 ਹਜਾਰ 466 ਮੀਟਰਿਕ ਟਨ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਟੇਟ ਵੇਅਰ ਕਾਰਪੋਰੇਸਨ ਵੱਲੋ 14 ਹਜਾਰ 62 ਮੀਟਰਿਕ ਟਨ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐਗਰੋ ਵੱਲੋਂ 13 ਹਜਾਰ 472 ਮੀਟਰਿਕ ਟਨ, ਐਫ.ਸੀ.ਆਈ. ਵੱਲੋਂ 19 ਹਜਾਰ 114 ਮੀਟਰਿਕ ਟਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ 12 ਹਜਾਰ 457 ਮੀਟਰਿਕ ਟਨ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਨਗਰੇਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ 38 ਕਰੋੜ 90 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰਕਫੈਡ ਵੱਲੋਂ 24 ਕਰੋੜ 17 ਲੱਖ, ਪਨਸਪ ਵੱਲੋਂ 21 ਕਰੋੜ 26 ਲੱਖ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਟੇਟ ਵੇਆਰ ਕਾਰਪੋਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ 22 ਕਰੋੜ 82 ਲੱਖ,  ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐਗਰੋ ਵੱਲੋ 21 ਕਰੋੜ 54 ਲੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਐਫ.ਸੀ.ਆਈ. ਵੱਲੋ 20 ਕਰੋੜ 36 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਇਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।  

ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਸਪਰਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਦੀ ਸਵੱਛਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਮੀਨ ਦੀ ਉਪਜਾਊ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ  ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਨਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਨਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ। ਜਿਸਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਮਾੜਾ ਅਸਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The workshop was held to make students aware about study opportunities available in United Kingdom (UK) in different streams.

The expert spoke about opportunities in Law, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Informatics, Arts & Humanities, Psychology, Social Science and Public Policy. In her presentation Shweta laid emphasis on How to write a good Personal Statement.

She discussed UK’s Under Graduate Subject areas & aspects like application process, entry requirements and Scholarship opportunities.

Helping Hapless Helps Bring Back Young Girl Being Tortured in Dubai: Bibi Ramoowalia

Chandigarh 09^th May:- President of NGO Helping Hapless and former Chairperson of Mohali Planning Committee Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia today in a Press Conference Presented a Girl Miss Heena ( Name Changed ) who was being held captive in Dubai against her will for last four months.

Heena sald that the Travel Agent from Jalandhar by Name of Arora took Rs. 2 lacs from her for working in a company, but on reaching Dubai, she was locked in room for several days and later sends to the home of Mohammed Abdullah as a Domestic Maid. Heena said that she was forced to work for twenty hours in a day and whenever she requested for Break she was beaten up. Mohammed Abdullah told her that his family has bought her for two and Half Lacs and if she wants to go back she has to pay them their Two and Lacs only then they will let her go, or else she has to work as per their requirements. Abdullah the employer of Heena threatened that if she tries to run away they will chop off her hands and feet and throw her body in untraceable location. She had lost hope of coming back to India and sees her family.

Heena’s Father then approached NGO Helping Hapless President Amanjot Ramoowalia at Chandigarh and Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia assured her father that she will get me back. After this she was in regular touch through Whatts Up with Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia. After listening to her whole story Amanjot Ramoowalia and seeing the Pictures of burnt hands and legs as Heena was continuously abused mentally and emotionally tortured by her Employer.

Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia on 27^th March wrote Indian High Commissioner Navdeep Suri and got in touch over the Phone as well, Indian Mission was very Co-Operative to get India’s Daughter back to her parents. Finally on 28^th April, Dubai Police brought Heena back from the Crutches of her employer Mohammed Abdullah and she was flown back to New Delhi.

Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia said further that there are thousands of Indians both Men and Women are sold in Middle East and made to work like slaves. As the situation is very alarming she said Indian Government as well as Punjab Government needs to introduce tougher Laws to deal with such Travel Agents and thus provide Justice to Innocent Indians who are suffering mentally, Physically and Financially.

Amarinder Offers Prayers at Golden Temple

Chandigarh 08^th May:- To pay his obeisance and seek blessings for the people of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh visited the historic Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple and Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal (Ram Tirath).

Captain Amarinder Singh said that it was a gratifying experience for him to visit the holy shrines, which were a fountainhead of peace for millions of people from around the world. Captain Amarinder Singh said that he and his colleagues wished to express their gratitude to the Almighty for their resounding victory in the recent Punjab assembly elections. Captain Amarinder said they had come to these temples to pray for the state, and its peace and development, to which his government was fully committed.

Accompanied by his Cabinet colleagues and other Congress MLAs and MPs, the Chief Minister also visited the Jallianwala Bagh to pay his tributes to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives at the altar of the nation’s freedom struggle. An emotional Captain Amarinder said the memories of those martyrs will always remain a source of inspiration for the people of India.

Among those who accompanied the Chief Minister were the newly appointed PPCC President Sunil Jakhar, Member Parliament from Amritsar Gurjit Singh Aujla, Cabinet Ministers Manpreet Singh Badal, Rana Gurjit Singh, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sadhu Singh Dharmsot, besides CM’s Media Advisor Raveen Thukral.

The Chief Minister, who reached Sri Harmandar Sahib (Goldren Temple) early in the morning, did a Parikrama of the holy shrine before offering prayers at Darbar Sahib. Captain Amarinder was honoured by the SGPC management, who presented him a Siropa (robe of honour) on the occasion.

From the Golden Temple, he went to Jallianwala Bagh and then the historic Durgiana Mandir-the abode of Goddess Durga. The Chief Minister and his colleagues later visited Sri Ram Tirath Sthal to offer prayers, before leaving for Hoshiarpur, where he was scheduled to visit a Citrus Estate and inaugurate a new tractor manufacturing facility.

Start Up of Trio Devised an App Driven New Shared Cab Service

Chandigarh 08^th May:- With an objective to give new dimension to travelling aligned with carpooling, city based trio in form of Start Up today conceptualized a new travelling app – HiWay which will comfort and delight to like-minded passengers during their commute. A former engineer from Infosys Rubal, A mechanical engineer Pankush and BBA student from SD College–Abhishek were working on the app over a period of one year which will now facilitate the commuting between Chandigarh to Gurugram and return. The app is now on roll with a fleet of five cabs.

While briefing the details on utilization of app, Rubal said that this option will be benefitting the travellers a lot. To avail this, one has to register on the app and select the option of his or her departure which is scheduled from 5 am onwards. Start Up team at the backend ensure the seat as per their timing and confirmed.

Pankush said that cabs are GPS driven which can be tracked any point of time for relatives sitting at home. Journey will be safe, as we have also the provision for insurance for the travellers. 

Abhishek said that the distance will be covered in around four and half hours. The services offered during the travelling include free wi-fi, charger, refreshments, daily newspaper, mineral water, juices and much more. He said that they have 10 newly purchased Innovas. 05 Innovas will operate from Chandigarh to Gurugram and 05 will operate from Gurugram to Chandigarh.

They added further they are planning to start function in another parts of north India i.e. Amritsar, Jammu and Manali.

Chandigarh 08^th May:- ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਏ ਗਏ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ, ਬੇਘਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਸਤਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਵਲ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਫੇਜ਼ -6, ਮੋਹਾਲੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਕੂਲ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਬੋਰਡ ਦੇ ਨੇੜ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਜੂਡੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿਖੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ 10 ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਵਧਿਆ ਸਾਫ ਸੁਥਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਈਜੈਨਿਕ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਚਰਨਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ, ਸਹਾਇਕ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ (ਜਨਰਲ) ਜਸਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸਿਵਲ ਸਰਜਨ ਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਮੇਤ ਹੋਰ ਪਤਵੰਤੇ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। 

ਇਸ ਮੋਕੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਮੇਅਰ ਰੀਸਵ ਜੈਨ, ਕੌਸਲਰ ਅਮਰੀਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੋਮਲ ਅਤੇ ਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਣਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਿ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੋਣ ਮੈਨੀਫੈਸਟੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਤੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਸਤਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ  ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਬਣੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਵਾਅਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਸਤਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸਕੀਮ ਆਰੰਭੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ  ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਕੀਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਲਾਭ ਪੁੱਜਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਮੇਅਰ ਰੀਸਵ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਸਕੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਵਿਘਣ ਚਾਲੂ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਸਤਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸਕੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਸਕੀਮ ਪੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਫਲ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕ ਸਸਤਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਖਾ ਸਕਣ। 

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਚਰਨਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਸਤਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਸਕੀਮ ਲਈ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਅਕਾਉਂਟ ਨੰਬਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਬੈਂਕ ਦੀ ਸਾਖਾ ਖਾਤਾ ਨੰਬਰ 1155000102100558 ਖੁਲਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਦਾਨੀ ਸੱਜਣ ਇਸ ਖਾਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ, ਚੈਕ/ ਬੈਂਕ ਡਰਾਫਟ, ਇੰਟਰਨੈਟ ਬੈਕਿੰਗ ਰਾਹੀ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਵਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਕੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਰੀ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ਤਾ  ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਪੁਰਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਵੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੁੰ ਵੈਬਸਾਈਟ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

Nautical Institute to Upgrade Skills of Seafarers in Region

Chandigarh 08^th May:- Philip Wake, Chief Executive of The Nautical Institute London visited the city today to explore options to contribute to the city in making it a shipping-support hub.

Received in traditional Punjabi style and led into the venue under the phulkari cover, and greeted by Bhangra dancers, Philip Wake announced that The Nautical Institute shall have the Chandigarh branch next month, at the beat of the ‘nagara’.

Philip Wake who has been decorated with the Order of British Empire (OBE) for his services by the British Government, said that the Nautical Institute is an international centre of nautical excellence, which provides the strongest possible professional focus, dedicated to improving standards of those involved in control of seagoing crafts.

He commended the senior, retired, and the youthful seafarers of Chandigarh and Punjab who are making remarkable contribution to the world-wide maritime field and announced that by next month the Nautical Institute shall have its presence in the city.

He said that the presence of The Nautical Institute which enjoys the consultative status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), would further expand the horizons of the seafarers joining the maritime industry.

Capt Sivraman Krishnamurthi who had been the youngest and only Indian to be the world president of The Institute few years back, said the Chandigarh has the advantage of well-groomed English-speaking youth who can get into this lucrative profession.

Former mariner, and a senior Rotarian, former Rotary International Director Yash Pal Das made a presentation as to how the seafarers continue to serve humanity through diverse ways, and showcased how he spearheaded the Rotary's project of building and handing over 32 schools in the upper reaches of Rudraprayag district in Uttrakhand  that were destroyed in the massive floods in 2013.

An audio-visual "From Rubbles to Rubies" was screened that showed how the schools have changed the lives of children in 32 villages. 

Capt M S Kahlon, the branch development contact said that the Nautical Institute with its nearly 83 branches, has three branches in India, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi, with Chandigarh being the fourth one. He added that the Chandigarh branch shall be operational next month with formal presentation of the charter.
