Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi Invites Unpublished Manuscripts from City Based Writers

Chandigarh 10th July:- Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi invites city-based writers (working or residing in Chandigarh) to submit unpublished book-length manuscripts in Hindi, English, Punjabi and Urdu. The best entries would be given financial assistance for publication under Grant- in- Aid scheme of the Akademi. The following categories will be considered in Poetry, Short Story, Novel, Play and in Children's Literature.

Entries may be submitted at the Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi office on 1st floor of the Divisional Library, Sector 34. Deadline for submission of manuscripts is 10th August, 2018. Length of manuscripts: Novels/ short stories: minimum 30,000 words, Poetry: minimum 70 pages, Play: minimum 30 pages (printed/ typed). Those authors who have availed Grant-in-Aid in the previous year are not eligible.

Chandigarh 10th July:- चितकारा यूनिवर्सिटी में एक परस्पर संवाद सत्र में जानी मानी पोषणविद् अंजू अत्रे ने विद्यार्थियों को आज के भागदौड भरे जीवन में स्वस्थ जीवन की महत्ता के विषय में बताया। बातचीत के दौरान उन्होनें अपने जीवन में छोटे बदलाव के महत्ता को प्रकाशित किया जैसे कि प्रतिदिन एक मुठ्ठी बादाम खाना से और प्रतिदिन नियमित व्यायाम करना स्वस्थ जीवन को व्यवस्थित रखता है। उन्होनें यह भी समझाया कि किस प्रकार बादाम के साथ स्मार्ट स्नैकिंग स्वस्थ जीवन की ओर बढने का एक श्रेष्ठ मार्ग है और पेट का भरने की पूर्णता का अहसास, भार तथा मधुमेह प्रबंधन तथा स्वस्थ ह्रदय की देखभाल में बादाम की भूमिका की व्याख्या की।

भारत बचाओं जनांदोलन में उमड़े युवा कांग्रेसी

panchkula 10th July:- हरियाणा युवा कांग्रेस ने भाजपा सरकार की नीतियों को ‘जनविरोधी’ करार देते हुए आज 'भारत बचाओ जन आंदोलन' की शुरुआत की और इसके तहत मार्च निकाला जिसमें संगठन के पदाधिकारी एवं कार्यकर्ता शामिल हुए। ‘ हाथों में तख्ती लिए युवा कांग्रेसियों ने भाजपा भगाओ, भारत बचाओ के नारे लगाए।  इस दौरान यूथ कांग्रेस के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष केशव चंद यादव व राष्ट्रीय उपाध्यक्ष बीवी श्रीनिवास मुख्यातिथि के तौर पर शामिल हुए । ये आंदोलन पूरे देश में किया जा रहा है और पंचकूला में आॅल इंडिया यूथ कांग्रेस के नेशनल सेक्रेटरी व हरियाणा प्रभारी जगदीप कम्बोज गोल्डी, हरियाणा यूथ कांग्रेस के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष सचिन कुंडू की अध्यक्षता भारत बचाओ जन आंदोलन' की शुरुआत की गई।  

भारतीय युवा कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष केशव चंद यादव ने कहा कि यह जन आंदोलन देश में बढ़ती अव्यवस्था और मोदी सरकार की जन विरोधी नीतियों के खिलाफ है। उन्होंने कहा कि मोदी सरकार के गलत नीतियों के खिलाफ हम लड़ेंगे, युवा कांग्रेसी डरेंगे नहीं। उन्होंने कहा कि भाजपा सत्ता सँभालने के बाद से ही देश में किसान और युवा की स्थिति दयनीय हो गयी है। देश में महंगाई ने कमर तोड़कर रख दी है। किसान को न तो फसल का उचित दाम मिल रहा है और न समय पर भुगतान हो रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि हरियाणा की भाजपा सरकार ने खिलाड़ियों और किसानों की स्थिति पहले से काफी बदत्तर कर दी।  उन्होंने कहा कि आने वाले दिनों में वह हरियणा में ब्लॉक स्तर पर कार्यक्रम करेंगे और ज्यादा से ज्यादा लोगों को साथ जोड़ेंगे।  उन्होंने कहा कि हरियाणा प्रदेश की जनता मौजूदा सरकार से काफी परेशान हैं क्योकि इस सरकार ने केवल दमन की निति अपनाई हैं। 

राष्ट्रीय उपाध्यक्ष बी वी श्रीनिवास ने कहा कि आजे देश में युवा बेरोजगार हैं, किसान परेशान हैं कि उनकी फसलों की वाजिब कीमत नहीं मिल रही है। देश में महिला कहीं भी सुरक्षित नहीं है। हाल यह है कि आम आदमी त्रस्त है और सरकार मस्त है। इन हालातों में लोगों के पास आवाज उठाने के अलावा कोई उपाय नहीं बचा हुआ है।

हरियाणा युवा कांग्रेस के प्रभारी एंव राष्ट्रीय सचिव जगदीप कम्बोज गोल्डी ने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार ने हर साल दो करोड़ युवाओं को रोजगार देने का वादा किया था, जिसको पूरा करने में पूरी तरह असफल रही है। वर्तमान केंद्र व प्रदेश सरकार युवाओं के भविष्य के साथ खिलवाड़ कर रही है। रोजगार के नाम पर पकौड़ा बेचने का सलाह दे रही है। इस सरकार में किसी को भी अपनी बात रखने का हक नहीं है।

हरियाणा युवा कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सचिन कुंडू कहा कि 'इस सरकार में महंगाई अपने चरम पर है। पेट्रोल डीजल के दाम आसमान छू रहे हैं। किसान परेशान हैं कि उनकी फसलों की वाजिब कीमत नहीं मिल रही है। युवा नौकरी न मिलने के कारण परेशान हैं।'नोटबंदी और जीएसटी लागू करके सरकार ने व्यापार की कमर तोड़ दी है जिससे युवाओं में बेरोजगारी और हताशा बढ़ रही है।

युवा कांग्रेस  प्रधान सौरव गर्ग ने कहा कि ‘यह जन आंदोलन देश मे बढ़ती अव्यवस्था और भाजपा सरकार की जन विरोधी नीतियों के खिलाफ है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘ मोदी जी ने कहा था कि सत्ता में आने के बाद काला धन लाएंगे, लोकपाल लाएंगे। हालात ये हैं कि काला धन आना तो दूर, सरकार की सरपरस्ती में देश का 61,036 करोड़ रूपये का बैंकों का सफ़ेद धन नीरव मोदी और मेहुल चौकसी जैसे काले चोर लूट कर भाग गए।

Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj is Being Honoured as Supreme Spiritual Icon of the Year

Chandigarh 10th July:- Nirankari Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj is being honoured by the U.S. based International Organization ‘We Care for Humanity’ (WCH) as the 2018 Supreme Spiritual Icon of the year. This Award for the year 2017 was given to Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj.

This information was given by C.L. Gulati, Secretary, Headquarters he said that the Award was conveyed to Her Holiness by a letter dated June 4, 2018 from Her Excellency Princess Maria Torres, the Founder President of the Organization and Chairperson of its Global Order of Dignitaries and Philanthropists (G.O.D.) Awards Committee.

The letter says WCH takes extreme pride announcing that G.O.D. Awards Committee has reached its unanimous decision to recognize Her Holiness as the ‘2018 Supreme Spiritual Icon of the year’ for the exemplary socio-spiritual and charitable activities she has made thus far globally. The Award will be given at a special function to be held in Kolkata on July 28 and 29, 2018 in the presence of luminaries and distinguished guests from all walks of life.

Martin Schwenk Will Become New Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India

Martin Schwenk will replace Roland Folger, who will assume a new position for Mercedes-Benz’s Thailand & Vietnam markets.

In the last three years under the leadership of Roland Folger, Mercedes-Benz India has witnessed significant growth rates, achieving the highest market share in the luxury car segment.

Roland Folger played a key role in formulating the brand’s growth strategy that includes market introductions of key products like the roll-out of the E-Class Long Wheelbase, qualitative expansion of the network footprint, and also the creation of the Vehicle Preparation Centre.

In 2017, Mercedes-Benz India achieved sales history by crossing the 15,000 annual sales number and in Jan-June 2018, the brand registered 8061 units of sales.

Expressing his happiness Jackie Shroff told that he his very happy that he is going to be a part of a Punjabi film. In this movie the audience will see him in a different character. The lead actor of the movie Sippy Gill told that this movie will present him in a different way. He could not reveal much about his role but he is confident that the audience will like his character. Hindi movie industry's popular face Nazeem Khan, always wanted to come to Punjab and wanted to be a part of a Punjabi movie and his wish is going to be fulfilled through this movie.

Actress Ihana Dhillon who came into the lime light through hit Bollywood movie- 'Hate Story 4' will be seen portraying a very powerful character in the movie. This is Ihana's second film with Sippy. The title ShiromaniPanth Rattan literally means Crowning Jewel of the Sikh cause  , is a title of highest honour awarded by one of the Takhts to an individual for the exceptional and meritorious services rendered to the Sikh cause. This is for the first time that a living legend like Baba Iqbal Singh  has been conferred with the title of ShiromaniPanthRatan, during his lifetime whilst still working for the welfare and Chardi Kala of the Sikh community as well as the entire humanity. 

Baba Ji retired from his Government job as Director of Agriculture (H.P.) in 1986 and immediately setup a school on the tranquil foothills of Baru Sahib with only 5 students. Thecurriculum was a synthesis of spiritual and worldly knowledge. Gradually the number of students in this school started increasing and the word spread of it turning around lives of students. Today the number of schools have increased to 129 rural schools  and almost 70,000 students are being imparted the blend of spiritual as well as worldly knowledge here.  

In most rural parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, Akal Academies  were setup by Babaji. The credit of creating a healthy competition and raising the standards bar amongst rural schools, goes to Baba Iqbal Singh. 

At present The Kalgidhar Trust /Society Baru Sahib runs129 Schools, 2 Universities, 1 Online University, 3 Drug De-addiction Centre, 6 Teacher Training Centre, and 1 Hospital.

Young Doctors from PGIMER Bags ‘Young Investigators Award’ at Yokohama-Japan

Chandigarh 09^th July:- Three senior residents in the Department of Pediatrics, Advanced Pediatrics Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh have been honored with the ‘Young Investigators Award’ at the XIIth. International Kawasaki Disease Symposium (IKDS) held recently at Yokohama, Japan.The International Kawasaki Disease Symposium is held once in 3 years and attracts investigators working in the field of KD from all over the world.

These Senior Residents  Dr. Ankur Kumar Jindal, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Pilania and Dr. Ankita Singh are pursuing their DM course in Pediatric Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology in Department of Pediatrics. They had presented their research work related to diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of children with Kawasaki Disease (KD) at PGIMER, Chandigarh. 

Dr Ankur was awarded for his work on “Ultrasound studies in patients with KD”; Dr Rakesh for his work on “Long term follow-up of coronary artery complications in patients with KD” and Dr Ankita received this award for her work on “Association of KD with hematological aberrations”.

The ‘Young Investigators Award’ award was given to only 20 participants. Dr. Tomisaku Kawasaki, the legendary Japanese Pediatrician after whom the disease is named, personally felicitated the winners of these awards. Incidentally, Dr. Kawasaki had visited PGI, Chandigarh in October, 2005. The award winners were also felicitated by Director PGIMER in his office.

Class X Board Examinations: 1299 Students Readmitted to same School

Chandigarh 09^th July:- All the 1299 students, who failed in Class X Board examinations, are being readmitted in same government schools. All the 4308 students, who have been placed under compartment in Class X Board examinations, are being admitted provisionally in Class XI of the government schools through centralized admission process subject to the availability of seat and marks obtained by such candidates. However, they shall attend remedial classes for the subject of Class X in which they have got compartment in the same government school till commencement of compartment examinations.

VR Punjab organizes Kids' Carnival & 'Champs Camp'

Chandigarh 09^th July:- VR Punjab organised a Kids' Carnival which aimed at  fun and productive use of the summer vacations. The carnival was preceded by  a 'Champ’s Camp' for 20 days and workshops for the students included Dance, Music, Art, Cookery, Theatre, Science, Photography and Pottery.  The carnival also included a Father & Child drawing competition which was big hit with the families in attendance. To support and promote the learning process and make students' sensitive towards the environment, Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), contributed by organizing a Slogan writing and Painting competition where the winners were given bicycles. The ‘Champs’ were entertained  with a movie ‘Peter Rabbit’ and renowned kids' favourite ‘star planetarium’ during the carnival. The teams of  'Super Bheem' and POGO channel visited VR Punjab to celebrate the birthday of kids' favourite animation character ‘Super Bheem’.

Jermina Menon, VP Marketing, Virtuous Retail, said that we are thrilled to host our most important  VIPs at the recent 'Champs Camp & Carnival' held at VR Punjab, where over 250 school children participated. Chandigarh 09^th July:- Director, writer, actor and editor, Manahar Kumar had always held a deep fascination the world of television and movies.A master’s student at Savannah College of Art and design (SCAD) courtesy Eduvelocity Kumar’s professors were amazed with his passion and dedication for the art and recommended his short documentary, ‘What are you Looking At?’ for the Southeast EMMY Student Production Award hosted by The Southeast EMMY Chapter, of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

He was then not only nominated for it, but he also ended up winning the prestigious award and claimed that the award signifies a sense of appreciation for his work, which makes him realize that he is on the right track, when he was asked about how he felt with his accomplishment. He then further stated that whats more important, is that he has fallen deeply in love with the process. At the end of the day, that’s imperative.

His documentary, which narrated the short story of two 8-year-old boys who, in order to buy books, collect alcohol bottles near a liquor store in sector 5 Panchkula, was a touching and emotional film depicting the harsh realities of life. Manahar Kumar further shared that he was surprised at the story that the boys told him. He did not expect them to be collecting money for books and what they said really made him want to convey the message and motivated him to make a short documentary about them. He was initially very intrigued and was just watching the boys to see what they were up to.

A non-medpass out of St. Johns High School, Kumar was following the typical route looking for engineering schools, finallylanding at Manipal University.He quickly discovered that the field of engineering was not for him and switched to mass communications instead, all the while, never letting go and constantly working with the theater and producing short movies, eventually forming the UnTied Laces (UTL) production company.

Ultimately deciding to pursue his dreams abroad, Kumar applied through Eduvelocity to and got into SCAD, from where his journey just keeps getting interesting. Being asked about his future endeavors, he said that he have a couple of upcoming movies that he is currently working on, some are marketing type and then there is a romantic comedy movie that he is very passionate about. He wrote it last year, before anything else, in March and he want to show his love for Chandigarh in it. It’s about the past, present and future of this couple and he is very excited about finally shooting it, going on to explain his end goals, he said that he wants to roam the world and discover different culture. He don’t want to stick to one place and one time, but he wants to explore different industries and convey his messages in different languages.

Plus Size Beauty Pageant: A Unique Beauty Pageant is All Set to Be Held in Region.

"We have successfully held Ms Plus Size North India Season I & now are happy to inform that the second edition of the pageant for Plus size women will be held on July 8, 2018(Sunday) at Hotel park Plaza, Zirakpur.  A total of 52 models will participate in the event & showcase their talent. Some girls want to fit in the social standards of being perfect and in a certain shape, which is tall and skinny but now women will break these stereotypes through this pageant, by embracing their beautiful bodies and redefining standards.

Hardeep Arora added that this beauty pageant will be the biggest event of North in its category & is the first ever platform for plus size ladies in India. The objective of the event is to support the noble cause of body positivity.
